The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu, through its Institute Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (I2EDC), successfully conducted a One-Day SEED (Student Enrichment through Engineering and Design) Programme on April 25, 2026, under its School Student Training Programme. The programme, themed “Empowering Schools, Transforming Futures,” welcomed around 30 students from Delhi Public School, Udhampur, offering them hands-on exposure to engineering, design, and innovation. The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world technological applications. A key highlight was the interactive session led by Prof. Navneet Kumar (PIC, I2EDC), where students explored the working of Remote-Controlled (RC) cars, followed by a hands-on activity where they assembled and operated the cars in groups. The programme also featured engaging demonstrations on 3D printing and laser cutting, providing insights into modern prototyping technologies. Students actively interacted with faculty and mentors, gaining exposure to design thinking, problem-solving approaches, and innovation-driven learning. Upon completion, all participants were awarded certificates and goodies, with special recognitions including “Young Explorers” (Level 01) and “Young Tinkerers” (Level 02) for outstanding performers. The session was supported by a dedicated team including Prof. Yogesh M. Nimdeo, Mr. Md Israil, Mr. Namrit Bhardwaj, Mr. Sahil Sharma, and Mrs. Priyanka Manhas, along with Mr. Ravi Thappa from DPS Udhampur. The SEED Programme reflects IIT Jammu’s continued commitment to nurturing curiosity, creativity, and early interest in STEM, innovation, and entrepreneurship among school students.
