Step 1: Write the number with spaces

Step 2: Add the digits and put in middle

3 + 6 = 9
Result: 396 ✅

What if sum > 9?
Example: 57 × 11
5 _ 7
5 + 7 = 12
Put 2 in middle, carry 1
5 + 1 = 6
Result: 627 ✅
