GDC DARHAL TAKES PLEDGE ON NATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY

DECEMBER 11, 2025 Government Degree College Darhal observed National Energy Conservation Day by organizing a pledge-taking ceremony aimed at promoting awareness about the importance of energy efficiency and sustainable living. The event was held under the patronage of Principal Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza.
Addressing the gathering, faculty members emphasized the need for responsible consumption of energy, highlighting how small individual efforts can collectively lead to significant environmental benefits. They also stressed the importance of adopting renewable energy sources and minimizing wastage in daily life.
Students and staff members took a solemn pledge to conserve energy, use electricity judiciously, and encourage others to adopt eco-friendly practices. The pledge reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.
The programme concluded with an appeal to all participants to incorporate energy-saving habits into their daily routine and contribute towards building an energy-efficient future.
The programme was an initiative of the IQAC and NSS wings of the college, headed by Dr. M. Saleem Wani and Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, respectively.
The event also witnessed active participation from faculty members including Dr. Taseem Ahmed, Prof. Anzar Ahmed, Dr. Raja Shahid, Dr. Mohd Shakeel Kataria, Dr. Mohd Shakoor, Dr. Abdul Ghani, Dr. Atta-Ul-Rehman Malik, Prof. Beenish Mir, Mr. Altaf Hussain, and Mr. Jameel Ahmed.

OBSERVANCE OF CONSTITUTION DAY PLEDGE AT GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE DARHAL

Darhal, [26-11-2025]:- Government Degree College Darhal observed Indian Constitution Day with dignity and patriotic spirit, reaffirming its commitment to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution of India. The event was organized to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution on 26 November 1949, a historic moment that laid the foundation for the world’s largest democracy. The observance aimed to remind students and faculty about the significance of constitutional values such as justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity in strengthening the democratic fabric of the nation. A brief introduction on the importance of the day was shared, highlighting that Constitution Day encourages citizens to respect the rule of law and to actively contribute to nation-building through responsible conduct and civic awareness.
The central part of the event was the collective reading of the Constitutional Preamble, taken as a solemn pledge by the entire college community. All faculty members, including Prof. Zameer Ahmed Mirza (Principal), Prof. Saleem Wani, Prof. Ghulam Abbas, Dr. Taseem Ahmed, Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, Prof. Anzar Ahmed, Dr. Raja Shahid, Dr. Mohd Shakeel Kataria, Dr. Mohd Shakoor, Dr. Abdul Ghani, Dr. Atta Ul Rehman Malik, Prof. Beenish Mir, Prof. Nighat Parveen, Mr. Altaf Hussain, and Mr. Jameel Ahmed, participated in the pledge with earnest dedication. Students from all semesters were also present in large numbers and joined the pledge with enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility.
The event concluded with a shared resolve among faculty and students to uphold constitutional principles in everyday life, promote unity and harmony, and work collectively towards building a just, democratic, and inclusive nation as envisioned by the framers of the Constitution.

PI Staff Hav Dev Raj from 5 J&K NCC Battalion Poonch visited GDC Darhal and imparted Drill & Weapon Training to the Cadets of GDC Darhal. The sessions were highly fruitful and beneficial for the cadets. The CTO Prof. Anzar Ahmed expressed gratitude to the Commanding Officer of the unit for continuously deploying PI Staff to train these newly enrolled cadets and hoped that such guidance shall continue in future also.

PI Staff of 5th JK Bn. NCC Poonch comprising of Hav Sharaz Araf & Hav Dev Raj visited Govt Degree College Darhal for routine parades and drill practice today on 27/10/2025. The team also conducted the class of NCC Cadets in which the cadets were imparted training about various small and medium range weapons.
Prof. Anzar Ahmed Malik CTO NCC GDC Darhal expressed gratitude towards CO 5th JK NCC Battalion Poonch for continuous support and guidance by deputing the officials for the training of the cadets. The Principal of the college Prof. Z. A Mirza also lauded the role of 5th JK Bn in strengthening the NCC units in the region and wished that such activities be carried out on a regular basis so that the NCC be strengthened at the grassroot level.
The program concluded with the serving of refreshment to the cadets.
