The auspicious festival of Janmashtami was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion at our school. 🌸✨ Students presented a beautiful Krishna-themed dance performance, adding colour and joy to the celebration.
The programme provided students an opportunity to showcase their talent while celebrating the rich cultural heritage associated with Lord Krishna.

Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) Organized at Government Model Higher Secondary School Domana

In compliance with the directions issued by the Office of the Chief Education Officer, Jammu, regarding the conduct of Parent-Teacher Meetings in all Government Schools of District Jammu on 31st August 2026, a Parent-Teacher Meeting was successfully organized at Government Model Higher Secondary School Domana.

The PTM was conducted with the active participation of students, parents and teaching staff, with the objective of strengthening school-level communication, providing proper guidance to students, promoting discipline and ensuring effective grievance redressal.

During the meeting, parents and students were sensitized and guided on various aspects related to student discipline, responsible behaviour, academic progress, regular attendance, constructive communication and addressing school-related concerns through the appropriate school-level mechanism.

The teachers interacted with parents, discussed the overall progress and development of students and encouraged parents to maintain regular communication with the school for the betterment of their wards.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from the school, parents and students towards creating a safe, disciplined, supportive and positive learning environment for every student.

Rotary Club Initiative for Digitalisation of School Education

Government Model Higher Secondary School, Domana, had the privilege of welcoming the esteemed members of the Rotary Club, who visited the school as part of an initiative aimed at strengthening digital education and enhancing the learning environment for students.

As part of this initiative, a digital facility was inaugurated by Shri Shyam Lal Sharma Ji, who formally inaugurated the facility in the presence of the school authorities, staff members and representatives of the Rotary Club.

The initiative is aimed at promoting the effective integration of technology into the teaching-learning process and providing students with greater access to modern and technology-enabled educational resources. Such facilities will help make classroom teaching more interactive, engaging and student-centred.

JAMMU: Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Domana, vibrantly celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and active participation of students and staff, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand.

🌸 Tribute to Major Dhyan Chand
The programme began with a floral tribute to the legendary sports icon by the Principal Sir and staff members, honouring his remarkable contribution to Indian hockey and sports.

🍱 Meal Sharing Activity
As per the directions, students also participated in a meal-sharing activity, promoting the values of togetherness, sharing and community spirit.

🎤 Inspirational Speeches
• Sheetal Devi delivered an insightful speech on the life, achievements and legacy of Major Dhyan Chand Ji.
• Virta delivered a speech on Surya Bhanu Pratap Singh, as directed by the District Youth Services & Sports Officer, with the aim of promoting and celebrating the achievements of sportspersons from Jammu & Kashmir.
• Gouri delivered an inspiring speech on a Hockey Star, highlighting the dedication, perseverance and achievements that inspire young athletes.

The celebration served as a reminder that sports build discipline, confidence, teamwork and a healthy spirit of competition. The enthusiastic participation of students and teachers reflected the school's commitment towards promoting sports, fitness and sporting talent.
