78th INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
The Chenab College of Education celebrated the 78th National Independence Day with great zeal and fervor. The program commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony carried out by the Principal of the College, Dr. Sunita Sharma and staff of the college. Immediately after the flag hoisting ceremony, NSS programme officer, Dr. Rekha Manhas, delivered her speech and recounted the contribution of the freedom fighters and called the Principal, Dr. Sunita Sharma to address the audience. Dr. Sharma in her opening speech welcomed and congratulated all 78th Independence Day of the country. She highlighted the importance of the day and recounted the contribution of the freedom fighters who sacrifies their lives in the freedom struggle. She further added that along with freedom, cm certain duties too, so we must today take pledge to discharge our duties sincerely and carry forward the legacy of our nation to our coming generations. I wish that our National Tri-colour may fly higher and higher with every passing year. She concluded her speech with “Jai Hind-Jai Bharat.”

3–DAY FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME CONCLUDES AT CHENAB COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (CCE), JAMMU
The Chenab College of Education organised a 3-day Faculty Development program with effect from 26th – 28th March, 2024. The program was organised in the form of a 3 – Day workshop on the theme ‘Technology Mediated Teaching Learning’ – Enhancing the efficiency of teachers. The Resource persons for the workshop were Dr. Deep Kumar, Sr. Asstt. Prof., ICT, Govt. College of Education, Jammu and Mr. Sumeet Sawhney, Sr. Lect., and expert in e-content production from DIET. The inaugural session of the program was dealt by Dr. Sunita Sharma, Principal of the College, where in she welcomed the resource persons with presentation of bouquet, beside highlighting the relevance of significance of the theme of the workshop. During the workshop which stretched over three days, two technical sessions followed by practical/hand on activities were held on day 1 and day 2 respectively.
On day 3rd, two technical sessions were held in the first half of the day which were interactive. The second half of the day was dedicated to the Valedictory session; the Principal of the College reflected on the proceeding of the workshop and applauded the efforts of the resource persons and the participants for making the workshop a grand success. On the whole, the Faculty Development Programme was very informative, interactive and interesting and added a great value to enhance the ICT skills of the teachers. The teachers and teachers in making express their gratitude and great satisfaction to the organization and resource persons for adding to their knowledge and making them relevant to the needs of 21st century learners.

The science club of Chenab College of Education celebrated “National science day” on 28 February 2024 to commemorate the discovery of Raman effect. Various activities were organised such as ppt., debates and discussions on this year theme.
“Indigenous technologies for Viksit Bharat” emphasising the importance of homegrown innovations in India’s scientific progress, where students participated enthusiastically highlighting the various pros and cons of the given theme. At the end of the programme incharge of science club Ms. Megha Jasrotia (Astt. professor in Teaching of sciences)discussed all the issues and implement new technologies for the development in the field of science and to give an opportunities to the scientific minded citizens in India.
