💧 World Water Week 2026 – Awareness Camp 🌍

In celebration of World Water Week 2026, observed from 23rd to 27th August 2026 under the theme “Water for People and Progress,” the NSS Unit of North Bengal St. Xavier’s College organized an Awareness Camp on Water Conservation at St. Peter’s Primary School, Mogradangi, on 21st August 2026.

The programme included an interactive session with the children, a quiz competition, and a drawing competition, creating an engaging platform to spread awareness about the importance of water conservation and responsible water use. 💧🌱

Children are the future of our nation. By educating and empowering them today, we can nurture responsible citizens and build a sustainable, water-secure future for all. 💙

10 Crore Drug-Free Pledge Mega Campaign | Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

The NSS Unit, North Bengal St. Xavier’s College, in collaboration with Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, organized the “10 Crore Drug-Free Pledge Mega Campaign” under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

A total of 431 students and teachers actively participated in the campaign and took the pledge for a healthy, responsible and drug-free India. 🇮🇳✨

A vibrant Indigenous Day celebration took place on 10th August 2026 at the college canteen from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The campus came alive with traditional music, energetic dance performances, and creative poster displays. A major highlight of the afternoon
was a captivating fashion show that showcased the rich heritage, colorful attire, and distinct traditions of the Bodo, Santali, Oraon, Bhutia, Munda, Lepcha, and Gond tribes, bringing students together to honor diverse cultural legacies.

In observance of World Lion Day 2026, the Department of Zoology, North Bengal Saint Xavier’s College, in collaboration with North Bengal Wild Animals Park, Siliguri, facilitated an academic exposure visit for the First Semester Undergraduate Zoology students under the guidance of Dr. Amlan Jyoti Ghosh, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology.

The programme provided students with a valuable hands-on learning experience in megafauna conservation, lion population census methodologies, and behavioural studies, with particular emphasis on the Asiatic Lion as a flagship species.

Through the technical session and field-based Lion Safari experience, students explored the practical dimensions of wildlife monitoring, animal behaviour, ecological observation and conservation science, enabling them to relate their foundational classroom learning to real-world wildlife management practices.

The AICUF Orientation 2026 was held on 6th August 2026 during RK Class. Around 33 new freshers joined with the AICUF Board Members. The session started with an introduction to AICUF, its motto of Faith, Justice, and Service, and the vision for the year. Office bearers introduced themselves, and students were informed about AICUF activities and cell meetings. The program ended with fun activities and games, making it an energetic and welcoming start for all.
