Two unrelated outborn babies were referred to us with similar presentation.
Both babies were full term with meconium aspiration and severe respiratory distress with SpO2 < 20%.
Baby 1 referred at 4 hours of life. Ongoing sepsis and PPHN which developed subsequently required aggressive approach.
Baby 2 presented exactly the same at 8 hours of life with white out lungs on CXR. Both the babies were managed with ventilatory support, surfactant , MgSO4 infusion and inotropic support along with higher antibiotics and supportive management.
Baby 2 had a large PDA which was managed conservatively with ibuprofen. Our efforts paid off when repeat ECHO showed marked reduction in size of PDA.
Timely and aggressive approach to management enabled us to salvage them despite complications.
Finally , with God’s grace, we are able to discharge the babies after 20 days of NICU stay.
The happiness we see on parents’ face is the biggest reward we could ask for.

An infant with mother covid positive got admitted. Baby had severe sickness like pneumonia, high rate distress and was on ventilator for three days under the treatment of Dr. Jatinder. Now, with god's grace & good treatment baby's health is stable & better.
We recommend testing of covid anti-bodies in new born babies with mother covid positive with similar presentations

Tips to take care of newborn child if Mother or Family Member is Covid-19 positive
Preterm baby born by emergency cesarean, admitted in sick condition with severe respiratory distress. Showed improvement with dedicated treatment and expert nursery care; discharged the baby with good health & weight gain. Thanks to parents for having faith in my treatment.
