Plasma 2015 at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar
Around 523 IT Students from 21 colleges of showcased their technical skills in the Inter College IT Fest Plasma 2015 at Lyallpur KhalsaCollege today. Organized by the Department of Computer Science & Information Technology of the College, the event included competitions in 21 events including software showcase, website development, Logo Development, Logic Whirlpool, Ad mad Show, Idea Snap Shot, Net Savvy, IT Quiz, Test Your Technical Skills, IT in Colors, IT Collage, Debugging and Tech GD.
The event was inaugurated by Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President College Governing Council. In her address, she stressed on relevance of technical education, particularly IT expertise, in the contemporary times and reiterated the commitment of the college to quality education.
Welcoming the Guests, the college Principal Dr. G.S Samra elaborated the key achievements of the college in IT education and added that the college had started IT based advanced graduate level courses in printing technology and software development from the current session. Congratulating the prize winners he said that IT sector had a great scope for research and potential for employability.
The Chief Guest of the evening session was Ms. Gurjot Kaur Senior Executive Ajit Group of Publication and Sh. Krishan Kumar Rattu Deputy Director General Doordarshan Kendra, Chandigarh who gave away prizes to the winners. Congratulating the prize winners they said that IT sector had a great scope for research and potential for employability. Cash Prize for four event (IT Quiz, Electronic Expo, Idea Snapshot and Web Portal Development) were awarded by Sh. Harvir Singh (Canada)
The occasion was witnessed by the presence of S. Jaspal Singh Waraich, Joint Secretary College Governing Council, S. Amolak Singh Kalsi (Technical Director and Distt. Informatics Officer, Jalandhar) Dr. Karamjit Singh Rai, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, Prof. Baldev Singh, Prof. Mandeep Singh, Prof. Manpreet Singh, Prof. Sandeep Singh, Prof. Gagandeep Singh, Prof. Ratnakar Maan, Prof. Jagpreet Singh and the students and the staff of the Department. The stage was managed by Prof. Daljit Kaur, Prof. Jaspreet kaur and Prof. Karamjit Kaur.
