ਐਮ.ਐੱਡ. ਤੋਂ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਵਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮੁਸਕਾਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਨੇ ਡਿਸਟਿੰਕਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਬੀ.ਐੱਡ. ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ,
ਹੋਰ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ੇਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ 11ਵਾਂ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ, ਮਨਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ13ਵਾਂ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ, ਗੁਰਜੀਤ ਨੇ 25ਵਾਂ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਨਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ 30ਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਨਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ 36ਵਾਂ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸੈਸ਼ਨ 2023-2025 ਅਤੇ 2024-2026 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 23 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਤਮਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕੁੱਲ 126 ਇਨਾਮ ਵੰਡੇ ਗਏ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਮੀਤ ਸੇਠੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਪੁਰੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਹੋਣਹਾਰ ਮੈਰੀਟੋਰੀਅਸ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ 'ਨਕਦ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ' ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ।
ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾਤਮਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਨਾਮ ਵੰਡ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ 'ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਬਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਿੱਕੀ' ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਮਨਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਮਤਾ ਲਈ ਯਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੋਤਸਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ 5100 ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਮੈਡਮ 'ਡਾ:ਜਸਮੀਤ ਸੇਠੀ' ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਲੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਭੇਂਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ । ਆਖਿਰ 'ਚ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਮੈਡਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਗੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਹੋਈ।

Promoting awareness, encouraging healthy choices, and breaking the silence around important health topics 💫

In compliance with the guidelines of DHE Punjab, a seminar on “Promoting Healthy Choices: Sexual Hygiene and HIV/AIDS Awareness” was successfully organized on 18th March 2026 in the college hall. The programme was conducted under the esteemed and visionary guidance of our respected Principal, Dr. Jasmeet Sethi Ji.

The seminar was organized by the NACO Club Committee and efficiently coordinated by Ms. Isha Madaan, Ms. Jyoti Chumber, and Dr. Harmandeep Kaur. All staff members and students of B.Ed. Semester II and IV were present and actively participated, making the session highly engaging and meaningful.

The insightful and interactive session by Dr. Vandana Lalwani focused on sexual hygiene, menstrual health, infection prevention, and spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS. Students actively participated, asked questions, and gained valuable knowledge for leading healthier and more responsible lives.

The programme concluded with the felicitation of the resource person with a green token of appreciation, an appreciation letter, and a token of honor as a gesture of gratitude for her valuable contribution 🌱

The Annual Sports Meet 2026 at Government College of Education, Jalandhar was successfully organized under the leadership of Principal Dr. Jasmeet Sethi on 2nd and 3rd March, 2026. The primary objective of the Sports Meet was to promote enthusiasm, team spirit, and sportsmanship among students.
On this occasion, Nitin Kohli graced the event as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by Gurdarshan Singh, a social worker, sports person, and cricketer, and Surinder Saini, a social activist. Their presence added great prestige to the event.
The programme commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by an impressive march past and the administration of the sports oath by the players. As a symbol of sporting spirit, the torch was carried by student Harpreet Singh. The Sports Meet was formally inaugurated by Shri Nitin Kohli, Principal Dr. Jasmeet Sethi, Sports In-charge Kirandeep Kaur, along with the staff members.
Throughout the day, various sports events were conducted, including chess, table tennis, badminton, 400-metre relay race, three-leg race, balloon race, shot put, sack race, 100-metre race, and tug of war, which was one of the most exciting events. The musical chair competition organized for the staff also emerged as a special attraction.
During the prize distribution ceremony, winners of the various sports events were felicitated. Student Harpreet Singh (B.Ed. Semester IV) and student Rajni (B.Ed. Semester II) were declared the Best Athletes of the year 2026. Mrs. Kirandeep Kaur expressed her gratitude to all the guests, staff members, and students. The programme concluded with an inspiring address by Principal Dr. Jasmeet Sethi. With the flag lowering ceremony, the Annual Sports Meet 2026 came to a successful conclusion.

National Science Day 2026 was proudly celebrated by the College J.C. Bose Club on 28th February in the Science Gallery under the theme “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat.” 🌸🔬

The programme, organized under the able guidance of our respected Principal Dr. Jasmeet Sethi and coordinated by Ms. Isha Madaan (Assistant Professor, Botany), featured an inspiring Speech and Poem Recitation Session. Students shared thoughtful presentations on the history of women in science, science and spirituality, and the remarkable contributions of pioneers like Sunita Williams and Marie Curie.

Certificates were distributed to all participants, and the presence of all faculty members and students made the celebration truly special. The Principal’s motivating words encouraged everyone to nurture creativity, research aptitude, and scientific temper for a stronger Viksit Bharat. 🇮🇳✨

*🌾📢 Stubble Burning Awareness Drive – February 2026*

As per instructions received from the Director of Higher Education, Punjab, Government College of Education, Jalandhar organized a series of awareness activities under the visionary guidance of Principal Dr. Jasmeet Sethi to promote prevention and control of stubble burning.

*🎓 Seminar – “Stubble Burning: Prevention & Control” (13.02.2026)*
Organized by the Mission Green Punjab Committee, the seminar featured Madam Isha Madaan (Assistant Professor of Botany) as keynote speaker. She explained the harmful effects of stubble burning — air pollution, smog, soil nutrient loss, destruction of beneficial microorganisms, and serious health hazards — along with eco-friendly alternatives like Happy Seeders and government initiatives.

*🌾 Rural Awareness Campaign (14–15 Feb 2026)*
Coordinated by the Mission Green Punjab Committee, Ms. Isha Madaan and Mrs. Kirandeep Kaur, B.Ed. students visited villages including Kang Sabu, Rasoolpur & Salempur Masandan to spread awareness among farmers about environmental damage and sustainable alternatives. The initiative received an encouraging response.

Government College of Education, Jalandhar organized a Group Discussion on “Entrepreneurial Skills for Teachers” on 27 February 2026 for the students of B.Ed. Semester IV under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Jasmeet Sethi, under the aegis of the Institutional Innovation Council, with the objective of nurturing innovation, leadership, and self-reliance among future educators. In the present dynamic educational landscape, where digital platforms, skill-based learning, and flexible career pathways are rapidly expanding, entrepreneurial skills have become essential for teachers to grow professionally and create additional opportunities. The session began with an introduction to the concept and importance of educational entrepreneurship, after which students actively participated and shared innovative and practical ideas such as starting tuition centres, conducting online classes, launching educational YouTube channels, developing teaching-learning materials, and initiating small-scale educational ventures. The discussion also covered important aspects like time management, financial planning, marketing strategies, professional ethics, and balancing dual roles effectively. The faculty members appreciated the originality and feasibility of the students’ ideas and provided valuable guidance on sustainability and long-term planning. At the conclusion of the programme, Mr. Navneet Jeed, officiating Principal for the day, applauded the enthusiastic participation of the students and encouraged them to implement their ideas in real-life situations, emphasizing the importance of being proactive, innovative, and self-reliant in their professional journey.

📢 HIV/AIDS Awareness Initiatives – February 2026

As per instructions received from DHE Punjab, our college organized a series of meaningful HIV/AIDS awareness activities during February 2026 under the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. Jasmeet Sethi.

🔹 *Formation of NACO Club (11.02.2026)*
The NACO Club was formally constituted with Ms. Isha Madaan appointed as the Nodal Officer. The establishment of the club marks an important step towards promoting awareness, prevention, and responsible health practices among students. *Faculty members and students were encouraged to follow the official social media handles of (National AIDS Control Organisation) and State AIDS Control Society (PSACS) on Facebook to stay updated with authentic campaigns and awareness initiatives. A 4’×3’ AIDS awareness flex banner was also prominently displayed in the college campus to sensitize students.*

*🚩 Awareness Rally – “Stop HIV – Spread Awareness” (23.02.2026)*
An Awareness Rally was organized with enthusiastic participation from B.Ed. Semester II and IV students. Carrying placards and raising impactful slogans, students spread messages about safe practices, early testing, non-discrimination, and compassion towards people living with HIV/AIDS. The rally commenced from the college campus and proceeded along Ladowali Road, Jalandhar, drawing public attention.
The rally was formally flagged off by respected Principal Dr. Jasmeet Sethi, who appreciated the efforts of the NACO Club and motivated students to act as responsible ambassadors of social awareness. The event was meticulously organized with full support from faculty members and staff.

🎤 *Seminar – “Understanding HIV/AIDS: Facts & Prevention”*
An informative seminar was conducted to provide accurate knowledge about HIV transmission, preventive measures, importance of regular testing, and elimination of myths and stigma. Special emphasis was laid on the need for increased awareness in Punjab and collective responsibility in preventive efforts.

Successfully Organizes Two-Day Workshop under NAPDDR

Government College of Education, Jalandhar, under the Department of Higher Education, Punjab, successfully organized a Two-Day Workshop on “Capacity Building of Professors” under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) on 20–21 February 2026.

The workshop focused on strengthening the role of educators in combating drug abuse through awareness, counselling strategies, early intervention, and preventive measures within educational institutions.

The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and an inspiring address by Principal Dr. Jasmeet Sethi Ji, who emphasized the crucial role of educators as change-makers in building a drug-free society under the theme “Yudh Nasheyan Virudh.” Vice Principal Mr. Navneet Jeed Ji highlighted the importance of institutional responsibility and capacity building for awareness generation and prevention.

Renowned experts from the field of Psychology and Rehabilitation delivered insightful sessions on:

Mental health awareness and counselling strategies

Psychological impact of substance abuse

Rehabilitation and recovery-oriented practices

Preventive and behavioural interventions

Integration of NAPDDR framework into institutional practices

The workshop witnessed active participation, meaningful discussions, and valuable reflections from faculty members. The event concluded with certificate distribution and reaffirmed the college’s commitment towards strengthening educators’ capacity in drug demand reduction.

A seminar on “Stubble Burning: Prevention and Control” was successfully organized at Government College of Education, Jalandhar under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. Jasmeet Sethi, in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Higher Education, Punjab. The programme was conducted by the College Mission Green Punjab Committee.
During the seminar, Madam Isha Madaan, Assistant Professor, Botany, shared valuable insights with the students. She explained that stubble burning is the practice of setting fire to crop residue after harvesting, which leads to severe air pollution, loss of soil fertility, destruction of beneficial microorganisms, and serious health problems. She also highlighted the measures being taken by the Punjab Government, including strict regulations, promotion of eco-friendly machinery like Happy Seeders, awareness campaigns, and financial support to farmers to discourage crop residue burning.
All faculty members played an active role in organizing the programme. College Students of B.Ed. and M.Ed. participated enthusiastically, ensuring the successful completion of the event.

𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐉𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐫 organized a 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 under the guidance of 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢, followed by 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 on the theme “𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬” to spread awareness about drug abuse.
The programme began with a prayer by B.Ed. students, and participants showed active enthusiasm. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐊𝐚𝐮𝐫 motivated students to promote anti-drug efforts, while the event was coordinated by 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐡𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐊𝐚𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐚 𝐀𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐫𝐢.

In the 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, Laddy (B.Ed. Sem II) secured first position, Kanchan (B.Ed. Sem II) second, Pooja third, and Lovepreet Kaur (B.Ed. Sem IV) received a consolation prize.

In the 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, Jaspreet Kaur (M.Ed. II) stood first, Mancy Malhotra (B.Ed. Sem II) second, and Sargamjit Kaur & Kritka (B.Ed. Sem II) third.

Winners were announced in both competitions, and the Principal appreciated students’ participation. The event concluded with a pledge against drugs and the National Anthem, reinforcing the message “𝐒𝐚𝐲 𝐍𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐬, 𝐘𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞.”

Government College of Education, Jalandhar, successfully hosted a comprehensive two-day training programme focused on the Capacity Building of Professors under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction ( ), held on January 29 and January 30, 2026. The programme was organized in alignment with the Yudh Nashyan Virudh campaign and the Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development, Government of Punjab. The primary objective of the programme was to empower educators with psychological insights, preventive strategies, and intervention skills to promote a drug-free, healthy, and resilient student community.
Each programme commenced at 09:00 AM with participant registration, followed by a solemn Inaugural Session. The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp following with College Principal, Dr. Jasmeet Sethi Ji, warmly welcomed the distinguished resource persons, faculty members, and participants. In her address, she highlighted the pivotal role of educators as mentors and change-makers in shaping young minds. She also appreciated the Government of Punjab’s proactive initiatives under NAPDDR and encouraged faculty members to actively apply the knowledge gained during the training in their academic and pastoral roles. Dr. Jagjit Kaur, Vice Principal stressed the importance of early identification, empathetic engagement, and informed intervention by teachers to safeguard students’ mental health and well-being.
The core of the programme consisted of intensive technical sessions conducted by eminent resource persons, Ms. Rangat Kaur from (Data Intelligence and Technical Support Unit), Punjab, an active contributor to the initiative, shared valuable insights into advocacy frameworks and state-level preventive strategies.
Ms. Ramanpreet Kaur and Mr. Manoj Kumar conducted Sessions I and II, focusing on mental health awareness, the three-tier model of prevention, youth-centric initiatives, and approaches to address substance use and self-harm. These sessions offered a clinical and practical perspective, incorporating evidence-based frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), enabling professors to recognize early warning signs and provide timely support to at-risk students.
The afternoon session emphasized holistic student care. Ms. Manveer Kaur from MPower (Aditya Birla Education Trust) led Session III, titled “Beyond the Surface: Supporting Student Well-being”. Drawing upon her rich professional experience, she discussed practical counseling techniques, empathetic communication, and the crucial role of educators in early mental health intervention and referral mechanisms.
Each programme concluded with an interactive Queries and Discussion Session, allowing participants to clarify doubts and share experiences. The Valedictory Session included the felicitation of the resource persons, followed by a formal vote of thanks and the singing of the National Anthem.
At the conclusion of the programme, Principal Dr. Jasmeet Sethi expressed her heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all the resource persons for their insightful, engaging, and impactful sessions. She also commended the organizing committee and participating faculty members for their active involvement and enthusiasm.
