The Annual Day and Prize Distribution Function of Akal Academy Ghugg was held on 29th November 2025 with great enthusiasm and joy. The event beautifully showcased the talents, discipline, and creativity of the students. Parents and guests also gathered in large numbers to encourage and motivate the students for their achievements. The Chief Guest, Dr. Amitoj Singh Multani (B.D.S., M.I.D.A.), Dental Surgeon, Kapurthala, graced the occasion with his esteemed presence.
The programme commenced with a soulful Shabad Kirtan, seeking the blessings of the Almighty. This was followed by a series of impressive cultural performances presented by the students. Through their meaningful choreographies, the students highlighted Punjabi culture, the importance of parents, the value of education, and several other significant themes.
The play “ਜਦੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਇਆ” depicted the hardships faced during the recent floods and emphasized unity, courage, and preparedness. Another impactful play, “ਮਾਪੇ”, beautifully portrayed the emotional challenges faced by families when children move abroad. The mime performance titled “Nature is God” conveyed a powerful message about environmental protection without the use of dialogue.
Prize Distribution Ceremony
The most awaited segment of the event honoured students for their achievements in academics, uniform and discipline, sports, and 100% attendance. Meritorious students were awarded trophies for their outstanding performance. Medals were also presented to students who excelled in athletic events.
Our Principal, Mrs. Harjit Kaur, addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest. Dr. Amitoj Singh Multani further delivered an impressive and insightful address on the importance of the quality education provided by Akal Academies. He also guided the students and parents regarding the importance of dental care. Dr. Multani appreciated the winners for their achievements and encouraged others to put in sincere efforts to excel in all fields.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks. The Annual Day not only celebrated the achievements of students but also conveyed meaningful messages on culture, social values, and environmental awareness. It was truly a memorable and enriching day for the entire school community.

The Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
Akal Academy Ghugg observed the Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji with great respect on 24 November 2025. The program began with the Paath of Sukhmani Sahib by the students of Grades 6th to 12th. Students of Grades 1st and 2nd recited Chopai Sahib, while students of Grades 3rd to 5th recited Japji Sahib, creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. Both students and teachers participated with devotion.
After the Paath, students presented short speeches and shabads highlighting the life and supreme sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, known as Hind Di Chadar. They spoke about his courage, his stand for truth, and his strong message of protecting human rights and religious freedom. After this, the music teacher shared Guru Sahib’s teachings with the students and encouraged them to follow the path shown by Guru Ji.
The Principal Ma'am also motivated everyone to follow Guru Sahib’s teachings of bravery, kindness, and equality. The program concluded with Ardas and the distribution of Karah Prasad.
The event served as a meaningful tribute to the noble sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

Dictionary Quiz Competition
The Dictionary Quiz Competition was conducted on 22nd November 2025 for Grades 1 to 5 at Akal Academy Ghugg. The competition was judged on the basis of the Word Meaning Round and the Find the Word Round using the dictionary. Students participated actively and displayed strong vocabulary knowledge and excellent dictionary skills.
The overall performance of the participants was impressive, with many students demonstrating accuracy and quick thinking. The event helped enhance their word recognition, spelling, and understanding of meanings.
The competition concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation. In this competition, Ajay House secured 1st position, Amul House secured 2nd position, and Atul House secured 3rd position. The winners were appreciated for their excellent performance.

Akal Academy Ghugg Organised an Athletic Meet on Children’s Day
Akal Academy Ghugg organised an Athletic Meet on 14th November to mark the celebration of Children’s Day. The main objective of this event was to honour and celebrate the joy, energy, and spirit of children.
The programme commenced with the invocation of the Almighty. This was followed by a disciplined march past presented by all four houses. After the march past, the oath ceremony was conducted, during which the sports captains, house captains, head girl, head boy, and students solemnly took the oath to uphold the values of sportsmanship.
With the permission of the Principal Ma’am, the athletic events began. Various events such as the 50 m race, 100 m race, 200 m race, 400 m race, frog race, sack race, biscuit-eating race, chair race, relay race, spoon-and-lemon race, long jump, and shot put were organised. Students from all four houses participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing remarkable energy and sportsmanship. The school campus echoed with excitement and healthy competition throughout the event.
All participants were appreciated by the Principal Ma’am and the teachers for their active involvement and commendable performances. The Principal Ma’am, Mrs Harjit Kaur, also extended her warm wishes to all the children on this special occasion, making the celebration even more memorable.

Walkathon on Awareness of Drug Addiction
Akal Academy Ghugg organized a Walkathon on Awareness of Drug Addiction on 8th November 2025 to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse. In today’s time, when the younger generation is increasingly falling prey to drug addiction, such initiatives play a vital role in guiding them towards a healthy and positive lifestyle.
Every year, all Akal Academies organize walkathons in different villages to educate both students and the general public about the ill effects of drugs. This year, Akal Academy Ghugg conducted its event at Village Pattar Khurd, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students and teachers. Participants carried banners and raised slogans such as “Say No to Drugs” and “Life is Precious — Stay Drug-Free.”
The Principal addressed the gathering and motivated everyone to make wise life choices and stay away from drugs. The event concluded with a pledge to lead a drug-free life and to inspire others to do the same.
The walkathon was a great success and served as a strong reminder of the importance of living a healthy, drug-free life. It was indeed a commendable step taken by all Akal Academies to safeguard the youth from the harmful effects of drugs

Gurpurab Celebration at Akal Academy, Ghugg
Gurpurab is one of the most sacred and significant days for the followers of Sikhism. It is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of our revered Gurus.
Akal Academy, Ghugg, celebrated the 556th Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 30th October 2025 with utmost devotion and deep reverence.
The celebration began with the Nitnem of five Banis by the students, followed by the Bhog of 20 Sehaj Paths completed with great sincerity and dedication by the students themselves. The atmosphere was filled with spiritual fervour as children offered their heartfelt devotion through soulful Shabad Kirtan, Kavishris, and religious poems, creating an aura of peace and joy all around. The entire congregation was deeply immersed in the divine melodies and spiritual ambience.
After the devotional performances, Principal Mrs. Harjit Kaur, addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of education at Akal Academy. She also urged parents to spend quality time with their children to nurture strong family bonds and to encourage them to follow Sikh Rehat Maryada in their daily lives.
The program concluded with the recitation of Anand Sahib and Ardaas, followed by the distribution of Karah Prasad among all attendees.
To further spread the spirit of service and equality, Guru Ka Langar was lovingly prepared and served by the students and teachers to the entire Sangat. The celebration concluded with an energetic Gatka performance led by Jyoti Madam, where students showcased their strength, discipline, and enthusiasm, leaving everyone inspired and proud.

Akal Academy Ghugg organized a Nagar Kirtan on 25th October 2025 to mark the auspicious occasion of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab. The Nagar Kirtan commenced with Ardas at the Academy and proceeded through the villages Ghugg, Shohar, Lakhan Kalan, Bishanpur, Daburji, Pattar Khurd, Pattar Kalan, and Fazalpur, before returning to the Academy.
The Nagar Kirtan was led by the Gatka team, Band team, and Panj Piyaras, accompanying the Palki Sahib of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji with great reverence. The residents of these villages arranged Langars along the route for the Sangat. Students, teachers, and devotees recited holy Shabads in praise of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The villagers honored the Panj Piyaras with Siropas, while Principal Ma’am Harjit Kaur also honored the villagers for their dedication and sewa. The Nagar Kirtan concluded with Ardas, after which Principal Ma’am Harjit Kaur expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the Sangat who participated. Everyone took part in the procession with deep devotion and enthusiasm.

Bandi Chhor Divas and Diwali Celebration
Diwali is a festival that celebrates the victory of light over darkness for Hindus and symbolizes the struggle for freedom for Sikhs.
Akal Academy Ghugg celebrated Bandi Chhor Divas and Diwali on 18th October 2025 with great enthusiasm and devotion.
The celebration began with the morning assembly, where students recited shabads to mark the occasion. Speeches were also delivered by students, highlighting the importance of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas for both Sikhs and Hindus.
Our respected Principal Ma’am, Mrs. Harjit Kaur, also shared her valuable thoughts on the significance of Bandi Chhor Divas. All students brought special food items from home and shared them with their friends and teachers during a short break, spreading the spirit of sharing and caring.
After the long break, students decorated their classrooms and made beautiful rangolis in the classrooms as well as in the reception area.
As a token of appreciation, Diwali gifts were distributed to all teaching and non-teaching staff members by our respected Principal Ma’am, who also extended her warm wishes for a Happy Diwali.
Everyone enjoyed the day thoroughly, making it a memorable and joyous celebration.

To stay connected with Gurbani and lead a Gurmat-oriented life, The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib, organized an Amrit Sanchar Samagam at Akal Academy Dhanal Kalan on 16th October 2025. A total of 24 students, one grandmother, and one driver from Akal Academy Ghugg received the blessing of Amrit during this sacred ceremony.
The main objective of this samagam was to instill Sikh values and discipline among students, encouraging them to adopt a true Sikh lifestyle and abstain from bad habits such as drug abuse.
All the parents and students expressed immense joy and gratitude upon receiving the blessing of Amrit, making this a spiritually enriching and memorable occasion.
