Ms. Jyoti Rani, Project Associate & Ph.D. Scholar, Department of Chemistry, received the Royal Society of Chemistry- Best Poster Presentation Award for presenting her research work at the 32nd ISCB International Conference (ISCBC-2026). The conference, titled "Sustainable Advances in Chemical and Biological Sciences", was held from 12th–14th May 2026 at IIT (BHU), Varanasi. She is pursuing her research under the supervision of Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Rajput, Professor, Department of Chemistry.

Mr. Samay Prasad Shukla, Ph.D. Scholar, Department of Biotechnology, received the Best Oral Presentation Award for presenting his research work titled “Methylotrophic Biofertilizers for Sustainable Agriculture and Greenhouse Gas Mitigation” at the Symposium-cum-Workshop on NEXTGEN BIO-INPUTS: Bio-based Pesticides, Stimulants and Fertilizers (BIOPSF 2026), held on 1–2 June 2026 at the National Agricultural Science Complex (NASC), New Delhi. The event was organized by the Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology (IPFT), Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals (DC&PC), Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India.

Under the visionary leadership of Director Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, the Department of Information Technology successfully organized a five-day online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Sustainable Growth in Modern Healthcare Infrastructure” from June 1–5, 2026. The FDP was sponsored by Agmatel India Pvt. Ltd. and witnessed active participation from around 50 faculty members, researchers, healthcare professionals, and industry participants from across the country.

The FDP brought together eminent experts from premier institutions including IIT Jammu, IIT Patna, IIT Ropar, NIT Calicut, NIT Kurukshetra, NSUT Delhi, CSIR Chandigarh, PGI Chandigarh, and Central University of Punjab. Through ten expert sessions, participants gained insights into sustainability principles, green healthcare infrastructure, digital healthcare systems, indigenous healthcare innovations, IoT-enabled patient management, resource optimization, and sustainable Artificial Intelligence applications in healthcare.

A major highlight of the FDP was the interdisciplinary discussion on how emerging technologies can contribute to building resilient, efficient, and environmentally responsible healthcare systems. Experts shared practical case studies, research findings, and real-world implementation strategies from hospitals, research laboratories, and academic institutions.

NIT Jalandhar successfully concluded the two-day Industry-Academia Conclave 2026 on June 6, bringing together experts from government, industry and academia for discussions on innovation, entrepreneurship, research collaboration and industry partnerships.
While the inaugural day focused on industry-academia collaboration, emerging technologies and research partnerships, the concluding day centered on startups, innovation and MSME–academia collaboration. Sharing their entrepreneurial journeys, Mr. Piyush D. Ukey and Dr. Prashant M. Naik (Ossaplus Simulations) spoke about the opportunities and challenges of building startups and encouraged students to pursue innovative ideas with determination and perseverance. Dr. C. S. Yadav (Department of Science & Technology, Government of India) highlighted various initiatives and funding opportunities available for innovation and entrepreneurship, while Mr. Ashutosh Wadhwa (RajHans International, Jalandhar) shared insights from his entrepreneurial journey and encouraged students to continuously enhance their skills and work towards their goals.

A key highlight of the day was the panel discussion on “MSME–Academia Innovation Connect: Showcasing Challenges, Collaboration and Convergence”, featuring Mr. Rajesh Sabharwal (Sharp Chucks and Machines Ltd.), Mr. P. K. Verma (Central Institute of Hand Tools, Jalandhar), Mr. Japeesh Chander (Dras Engineering Pvt. Ltd., Sonalika Group) and Dr. O. P. Verma (NIT Jalandhar). The discussion focused on industry challenges, innovation opportunities and the importance of stronger collaboration between MSMEs and academic institutions.

Beyond the technical sessions and panel discussions, students and researchers had the opportunity to interact directly with industry leaders, entrepreneurs and policymakers. These interactions provided valuable insights into startup development, innovation, industry expectations and emerging career opportunities.
The conclave witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, researchers, faculty members and industry representatives, creating opportunities for meaningful interaction, knowledge sharing and future collaboration.

Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jalandhar on Friday commenced the two-day Industry-Academia Conclave 2026, bringing together experts from government, industry and academia to discuss how stronger partnerships can promote innovation, strengthen research and prepare students for future careers. The conclave provides a platform for industry leaders, researchers, academicians and students to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration. The event aims to strengthen industry-academia linkages, encourage collaborative research and support skill development aligned with evolving industry needs.

The inaugural day featured keynote addresses and technical sessions by distinguished experts including Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO, Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF); Dr. Sangita M. Kasture, Scientist G, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India; Dr. Shivananda R. Koteshwar, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Astera Labs; Dr. Vilas Zode, Executive Director (HR), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL); and Mr. Soumen Bhattacharya, Engineering Director & Site Leader, Intel, among other distinguished experts from industry and academia.

Discussions covered important areas including artificial intelligence, semiconductor technologies, advanced manufacturing, sustainable energy solutions and digital transformation. Speakers highlighted the need for practical research, industry-focused learning and closer cooperation between educational institutions and industry to address future technological challenges.

One of the key highlights of the day was a panel discussion on “From Infrastructure to Intelligence: Industry–Academia Pathways for Digital Transformation.” The discussion featured Dr. Vilas Zode (HPCL), Mr. Sudhir Gera, Director–Operations, IEC Electric Power Ltd.; Mr. Preet Yadav, Head, India Innovation Ecosystem, NXP Semiconductors India; Prof. Arun Khosla, Centre for AI, NIT Jalandhar, and Prof. Monica Sikka. The panellists shared their views on how emerging technologies are transforming industries and creating new opportunities, while highlighting the importance of continuous skill development, technology adoption and collaborative problem-solving.

Conveying his message, Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, Director, NIT Jalandhar, described the conclave as an important initiative for strengthening industry–academia collaboration, promoting innovation and creating new opportunities for students and researchers.

The second day of the conclave will focus on startups, MSME–academia collaboration, innovation ecosystems and strategies to strengthen industry partnerships, support entrepreneurship and accelerate industrial growth.

Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar and IIT Delhi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 4, 2026, at IIT Delhi under the IIT Delhi–NIT Education and Research Network Initiative.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, Director, Dr. B R Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar, and Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, in the presence of Ms. Somya Gupta, IAS, Joint Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. Dr. Rohit Mehra, Dean (Research & Consultancy), Dr. B R Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar, was also present at the MoU signing event.
The collaboration establishes a comprehensive framework for academic and research cooperation between the two premier institutions, including joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange programmes, co-supervision of research scholars, credit transfer mechanisms, and sharing of academic resources and expertise. Discussions also focused on strengthening innovation-driven academic programmes and enhancing collaborative research opportunities.
The initiative aligns with the objectives of NEP 2020 and aims to strengthen research excellence, academic mobility, and innovation ecosystem development.
