Students from Literary and Debating Club(LADC), NIT Jalandhar took part in Trivium XVI, an annual Asian Parliamentary debating tournament 🎤 hosted by PEC, Chandigarh.

We are thrilled to share that our 12-member contingent represented NITJ with immense passion and intellectual rigour 🤍💫

Akshat (ME – 3rd year), Harsh*t (DS – 3rd year), and Kamalpreet (IPE – 2nd year) participated as adjudicators, showcasing their sharp analytical skills and judging multiple rounds with excellence 👏📋.

We are proud to announce that Prabhjot and Irfan secured the 5th and 10th Best Novice Speaker awards of the entire tournament 🎉🏅—a testament to their dedication and growing mastery of the format!

All our teams displayed commendable ardour, critical thinking, and resilience throughout the tournament 💪🧠, gaining valuable learnings for future competitions 📚✨.

Marked the official kick-off of Debate League 2025 and what a start it was!

From 40 eager participants, 8 team leaders were drawn. Each team leader was handed a purse of 50,000 points to build their dream team. The rules were simple yet ruthless:
💰 Max spend per player – 35K points
💸 Minimum spend – 5K points
👥 Every team had to end up with 5 members (including the leader).

After a fiery, dramatic, and downright thrilling auction, the teams were locked in team names chosen -
The Nexus, Tappu Sena, Court of Reason, Panel Pls Understand, Meow Meow, The Orators of Olympus, Phuss Phuss Gang, and Icarus.

With teams ready , the stage is set for the next phase the League Stage, where words turn into weapons and ideas take flight. ⚡🎤
