Under the aegis of IQAC and Student mental health monitoring committee (SMHMC), successfully organised a Program related to "National Prevention Week"on 12th May 2026 at University institute of Education,SBBSU. This Program is based on the theme of "Substance abuse and Mental health". Under the Guidance of Worthy Vice Chancellor Dr. Vijay Dhir and Dean Dr. Amarjeet Singh from education department. This Session was organized by Dr. Harpreet kaur from the Department of Education the program highlights the concept of Substance abuse and Mental Health. This Program promotes positive mental health and substance misuse prevention. A group of 30 students, accompanied by faculty members Dr. Hardev Kaur, Mr. Om Parkash, Ms. Rajveer Kaur and Mrs. Paramjeet Kaur. As a part of this Program students prepared Charts and Posters that clearly depicted how substance abuse harms our mental well-being. This Program aimed to Promote Healthy choices, manage stress and focus on getting good mental health.

Creating awareness for a better tomorrow — Students and Faculty members of the Physical Sciences Department, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University promoted the message of "Green Mind and Healthy Body" through educational and wellness activities. They visited Government Senior Secondary Smart School Daroli Kalan, Jalandhar to spread awareness among school students.
Students prepared informative charts, delivered speeches, and organized fun activities to make the session interactive and engaging. A meditation session was also conducted by one of the students to teach the importance of mental peace and healthy living. The event was a great success and received an enthusiastic response from the school students and staff.

Sant Baba Bhag Singh University Hosts Expert Lecture on Mental Health and Well-being
An expert lecture on “Mental Health and Well-being” was held at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University on April 7, 2026, in the Seminar Hall, Block No. 5, under the aegis of the Student Mental Health Monitoring Committee (SMHMC), in collaboration with IQAC and IIC.
The session featured Ms. Sonu Aggarwal, Managing Director of Zentree, Punjab, as the keynote speaker. She addressed the rising concerns of stress, anxiety, and depression, emphasising the need for timely support and equal attention to mental and physical health. She encouraged students to openly share their emotions with trusted individuals or counsellors. The lecture included practical strategies for stress management and positive thinking, along with interactive activities. Participants also expressed their views on mental health through posters, charts, and speeches.
A Q&A session provided further guidance to students. The event was attended by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vijay Dhir, Deputy Dean Academics Dr. Gurmanik Kaur, and faculty members Dr. Anita Rani, Dr. Hardev Kaur, Dr. Ankush, Ms. Shalu Mahey, Ms. Paramjeet Kaur, Ms. Sakshi, Ms. Rupinder Kaur, and Ms. Rinky. The program was organised by Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Chief Counsellor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Education, and hosted by Ms. Parveen Kumari. It concluded with a commitment to promoting mental well-being.
