DIPS IMT Celebrates World Book Day

DIPS IMT celebrated World Book Day with great enthusiasm in the college library. A book exhibition was organized to promote reading habits and create awareness about the importance of books among students.
To make the occasion more engaging, a Poster Making Competition was also conducted in the library. Students participated with great zeal and showcased their creativity and artistic talent.

The event was successfully organized under the guidance of Ms. Sandeep Kaur, Librarian.
The Principal Dr. Ravi Sidhu appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged students to develop a regular reading habit for overall personality development.

The HMCT department successfully conducted a housekeeping practical session for students, focusing on towel art. During the session, students showcased their creativity, precision, and understanding of housekeeping standards by creating a variety of decorative towel designs.
The activity aimed to enhance their practical skills and provide valuable hands-on experience essential for a successful career in the hospitality industry.
The session was conducted under the guidance of Incharge Armaandeep Singh.

*Industrial Visit Report – Hotel Management & Travel & Tourism Department*
DIPS IMT, Jalandhar
On 9th April 2026, students of the Hotel Management and Travel & Tourism departments of DIPS IMT participated in an industrial visit to *ITC Fortune Hotel, Jalandhar* . The primary objective of the visit was to provide practical exposure and enhance students’ understanding of real-world operations in the hospitality industry.
During the visit, students were given an opportunity to explore key operational departments of the hotel:
*Front Office:*
Students observed check-in and check-out procedures, room allocation systems, and various guest service practices.
*Housekeeping* :
They gained insights into room preparation standards, cleaning protocols, and maintenance procedures essential for ensuring guest satisfaction.
*Food & Beverage (F&B):*
The visit provided exposure to restaurant operations, service standards, and customer handling practices.
*Food Production:*
Students learned about kitchen operations, menu planning, food safety measures, and essential culinary techniques.
Overall, the industrial visit was highly informative and beneficial. It helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, enriching students’ learning experience in the hospitality sector.

DIPS IMT celebrated Children’s Day with joy and enthusiasm, highlighting the importance of nurturing children’s rights, education, and well-being. The day also featured a Canvas Poster Making Competition organized by the IT Department, with enthusiastic student participation. Arman Dhir (BCA 1st sem) secured 1st position, while Jaskaran Kaur (B.Sc IT 3rd sem) bagged 2nd position.
