Lecture on 💦 water borne diseases and safe handling of 🚰 drinking water
Water is very important for us. But if water has germs in it, we can become sick. Germs are very small living things we cannot see. They come into water when dirty things, toilet waste, or garbage mix with it.
*Some common water-borne diseases are:*
1. *Diarrhea* – It causes loose motions and stomach pain.
2. *Typhoid* – It causes high fever and weakness.
3. *Jaundice* – It makes our eyes and skin yellow.
4. *Cholera* – It causes very bad loose motions and can be dangerous.
*How can we stay safe?*
1. *Always drink clean water* – Boil water or drink filtered water.
2. *Wash your hands* – Use soap before eating and after using the toilet.
3. *Keep food covered* – Flies sit on dirty things and then on food.
4. *Do not throw garbage near water* – Keep ponds, taps, and tanks clean.
*Remember:* Clean water keeps us healthy. Dirty water makes us sick.

Use of Plastic Bottles as Planters..
Plastic bottles are one of the most common items that pollute our environment, but through the "Best Out of Waste" activity, we can turn them into something useful and beautiful. Instead of throwing used bottles away, we reuse them by cutting, painting, and decorating them to make creative planters. After making small drainage holes at the bottom, we fill them with soil and grow small plants like mint, coriander, money plant, or flowers. These bottle planters not only reduce plastic waste but also add greenery to our homes and schools in a cost-effective way. Hanging planters and bottle wall gardens are especially helpful for small spaces. This activity teaches students the importance of the 3Rs – *Reduce, Reuse, Recycle* – and shows how small creative steps can make a big difference for Mother Earth. So remember: *Don’t dump it, plant in it!*
