💻 From Vacuum Tubes to Quantum Computing! 🚀

The Department of Computer Science organized an engaging Video Show Programme to create awareness among students about the fascinating evolution of computers.

The video took students through the journey of computing—from first-generation computers and vacuum tubes to transistors, integrated circuits, microprocessors, and today’s AI-powered high-speed systems. It also introduced students to the exciting world of Quantum Computing, highlighting its working, remarkable speed, and potential applications in the future of science and technology.

✨ The programme offered students an informative, visual, and engaging learning experience, helping them understand how computers have transformed over the years and where technology is heading next.
The programme concluded with refreshments for the students.

🌟 Budding Stars Inauguration 2026 🌟

The Senior Secondary Wing successfully conducted the Budding Stars Inauguration 2026, with around 140 students coming together to mark the beginning of an inspiring journey of student leadership, responsibility, and growth. ✨
The programme began with a soulful prayer and a warm welcome by Asst. Prof. Sr. Gloria. Rev. Fr. Peter Kavumpuram, Managing Director, TGI, and Dr. Ajay Prasher, Principal, formally inaugurated the four houses along with the House Captains and Vice-Captains.
The Badge and Sash Ceremony honoured the House Captains, Vice-Captains, and Class Representatives with their badges, symbolising their new roles and responsibilities as student leaders. 🏅

In his Words of Wisdom, Rev. Fr. Peter Kavumpuram inspired students to be passionate, disciplined, responsible, and committed to personal growth while upholding the values of the institution.

The celebration came alive with captivating cultural performances by the students, making the occasion vibrant, joyful, and truly memorable. 🎭✨

🔬 1. C.V. RAMAN SOCIETY | Department of Sciences
Theme: “Science for Society: Inspire • Innovate • Sustain”
The C.V. Raman Society was inaugurated with an inspiring Investiture Ceremony, where the newly elected office bearers took the oath and received their badges. The programme featured engaging activities including “Battle of the Sciences,” “Mind Rush 2026,” and “My Scientific Idea for a Better Tomorrow,” concluding with a Green Commitment Activity promoting environmental sustainability.

🎨 2. ARTIFACT CLUB 2026 | Department of Arts & Languages
The Artifact Club was inaugurated with the enthusiastic participation of around 75 students, marking the beginning of a creative journey filled with literature, culture, art, and expression. Soulful prayers, cultural performances, inspiring Words of Wisdom, and an interactive teachers–students games session made the occasion lively and memorable.

💼 3. AARAMBH 2026 | Dynamic Business Club | PG Department of Commerce
The Dynamic Business Club was inaugurated through “AARAMBH 2026” at Bishop Symphorian Hall, with 45 enthusiastic students participating. The Investiture Ceremony saw the newly appointed office bearers receive their badges, while students showcased their creativity through an engaging Ad Mad Show. The programme also highlighted the importance of business acumen, leadership, ethics, and professional excellence.

🇮🇳 Celebrating the 80th Independence Day at Trinity Group of Institutions 🇮🇳

Trinity Group of Institutions celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit, and a strong sense of unity.

The programme was graced by Col. Brahmadev Sharma as the Chief Guest, with Mr. Nitin Kohli, Halqa Incharge, Jal Central, and Mr. Robin Love, Councillor, Ward No. 22, as Guests of Honour. The event was also attended by Rev. Fr. Peter Kavumpuram, Managing Director, TGI; Rev. Fr. John, Financial Administrator; Rev. Fr. Jibu Joseph, Director, TIMT; Dr. Ajay Prashar and Dr. Sheenu Nayar, Principals, along with faculty and students.

The celebration began with a prayer, welcome address, and flag-hoisting ceremony. Ms. Aarti, President of the College Cabinet, delivered an inspiring message on the significance of Independence Day and the role of youth in nation-building, while Mr. Vicky, Vice President, took the oath.

A patriotic song by the students added to the national spirit. Col. Brahmadev Sharma interacted with the students and inspired them to embrace patriotism, discipline, responsibility, and dedication towards the nation. Mr. Nitin Kohli also addressed the gathering and appreciated the students’ discipline and patriotic spirit.
The celebration concluded with a patriotic rally involving dignitaries, students, faculty, and staff, spreading the message of unity, nationalism, and responsible citizenship.

On the occasion of National Librarian’s Day, teachers and students visited the library and explored its diverse resources and facilities. The visit highlighted the vital role of libraries in enhancing knowledge, nurturing reading habits, and supporting academic growth.

As part of the celebration, Trinity Institute of Management and Technology contributed valuable books to the library. The Librarian was also honoured with a thoughtful gesture of appreciation, making the occasion truly special.

🇮🇳 NCC Girls Cadet Enrollment 2026 🇮🇳
We are delighted to share that the NCC Girls Cadet Enrollment Process was successfully conducted on 7 August 2026 at Trinity College, Jalandhar, for enrollment under the 2 PB Girls Battalion NCC.
✨ 25 girl students enthusiastically participated in the enrollment process. The screening and selection were conducted by the selection team from 2 PB Girls Battalion NCC, comprising Jograj Singh and Havildar Devi Saran.
The selection process included:
🔹 Height & Weight Measurement as per NCC standards
🔹 Physical Fitness Test, including various fitness activities and a race to assess endurance and physical capability
🔹 Screening & Shortlisting based on prescribed NCC eligibility criteria and performance
The shortlisted candidates will now proceed with the online enrollment process for final registration under NCC.

The Staff Welfare Committee successfully organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme “NEP 2020: Changing Perspectives and Writing Effective Research Grant Proposals.”

The session aimed to familiarize faculty members with the key reforms introduced under National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and equip them with essential skills to prepare competitive and effective research grant proposals.

Associate Professor & Head, Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry,
