Day 3 Highlights: Skill Development Course on Cooking at DAV College, Jalandhar
Day 3 of our Skill Development Course turned delicious and healthy!
✨We were honored to host Prof. Supriya from DAV College, Nakodar as the expert for today’s session on Art of Salad Making.

Prof. Supriya demonstrated expert techniques and guided students step-by-step in preparing two vibrant dishes:
🥗 Rainbow Salad – a riot of colors and nutrition
🥗 Thousand Island Salad – a creamy, classic favorite
Students thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on process and learned the secrets of presentation, nutrition, and flavor balancing.
Course Coordinator Prof. Pankaj Gupta warmly introduced the guest and briefed students on the importance of salads in a balanced diet for a healthy lifestyle.
Project Coordinator Dr. Seema Sharma thanked Prof. Supriya for taking time from her busy schedule. She encouraged students to “learn these techniques from the heart and make them a part of daily life.”
Principal Dr. Anoop Kumar addressed the participants and highlighted how skill development courses play a vital role in shaping personality and enhancing life skills beyond academics.

Inaugural Ceremony of Skill Development Centre Held at DAV College Jalandhar on June 17,2026

DAV College Jalandhar marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its Skill Development Centre (SDC), aimed at promoting skill-based learning and empowering students with practical competencies. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Guest of the Day, Mrs. Saroj Coordinator cm Program Officer , Swachh Bharat mission, along with Officiating Principal Prof. Kunwar Rajeev, Registrar Prof. Ashok Kapoor, Prof Sharad Manocha and Project Coordinator Dr. Seema Sharma.

Welcoming the gathering, Dr. Seema Sharma, Project Coordinator of the Skill Development Centre, introduced the various skill-oriented courses being offered under the centre.

Addressing the students, Prof. Kunwar Rajeev emphasized the significance of skill development in today’s competitive world and encouraged students to cultivate skill-based hobbies that can contribute to their personal and professional growth.

Guest Speaker Mrs. Saroj interacted with the participants and shared valuable guidance on skincare and self-care practices.

On the occasion, Principal Dr. Anoop Kumar conveyed his best wishes to all the participants and expressed confidence that the Skill Development Centre would play a vital role in enhancing students’ employability and overall development.

The programme was efficiently conducted by Mr. Tushar, who ensured the smooth flow of the event.

DAV COLLEGE JALANDHAR STUDENT SELECTED FOR INDIA U-19 CRICKET TEAM
Jalandhar, June 13: DAV College Jalandhar has once again brought laurels to the region with the selection of its student, Arjun Rajput of BBA-I, to the India Under-19 Cricket Team. The achievement reinforces the institution's long-standing commitment to nurturing excellence in sports alongside academics.
Arjun has already established himself as one of the most promising young cricketers in the state. Earlier, he represented Punjab in the prestigious Vinoo Mankad Trophy and captained the Punjab Under-16 team to a title-winning campaign, earning accolades for both his leadership skills and cricketing talent.
To celebrate this remarkable achievement, a warm welcome was accorded to Arjun during his visit to the college. The reception was led by Principal Dr Anoop Kumar and attended by Dr Manu Sood, Head, Department of Physical Education; Dr Kunwer Rajeev, Vice Principal; Prof Ashok Kapoor, Registrar; and Prof Sharad Manocha. Arjun was accompanied by his coach Sh. Ankur and his elder brother Karan Rajput.
Dr Punam Suri, Padma Shri awardee and President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, also conveyed his blessings and best wishes to Arjun Rajput. He expressed confidence that the young cricketer would make the nation proud through his talent, discipline and dedication, and continue to uphold the rich sporting traditions of the DAV institutions.
Congratulating Arjun, Dr Anoop Kumar said, "The selection of Arjun Rajput to the India Under-19 Cricket Team is a matter of immense pride not only for DAV College Jalandhar but for the entire region. At DAV, we have always believed in identifying talent, nurturing it with care and dedication, and presenting it to the world after chiselling and polishing it to excellence.
