On the occasion of MGD Girls’ School’s 83rd Birthday, sweets were distributed using paper packets instead of plastic, promoting a more sustainable way of celebrating.

Volunteers of the Disaster Management & SDG Club collected used paper packets and envelopes from Classes I–XII and took them to the Club’s collection spot near NatyaVeda for proper segregation and recycling.

The initiative reflected SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, encouraging responsible waste management and plastic-free practices.

MGD Girls’ School organised an insightful Traffic Awareness Session for students of Classes VII and VIII, focusing on the importance of road safety and responsible traffic practices.

The session was led by Smt. Ranu Sharma, Add. DCP Traffic (South), along with Mr. Ramkripal Meena, Traffic Inspector (Education), and Mr. Prem Singh, Head Constable (Education). Students actively interacted with the officials, raised their queries, and gained valuable insights into safe commuting practices.

Smt. Ranu Sharma also emphasised the importance of ensuring safe practices among school van drivers and discussed emergency helpline numbers that students should be aware of.

The session reinforced the message that road safety is a shared responsibility and encouraged students to become more aware and responsible road users.

Three young MGDians chose to make their birthdays a little more meaningful:

🍇 Arshi Qureshi (Class VII-B) celebrated her birthday by distributing dry fruits, promoting healthy choices and sharing joy with her friends.

✏️🌱 Meenakshi Kumari Puri (Class VI-C) distributed seed pencils, turning a simple birthday gesture into a step towards a greener future.

🌿 Prishika Sharma (Class VI-A) celebrated by planting a Curry Leaf sapling (Murraya koenigii), nurturing nature and giving back to the environment.

Five students from Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School participated in the YASHMAY–ALMA Global Model United Nations (GMUN), held at Yashmay World School, Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, from 31 July to 1 August 2026.

Representing WHO (World Health Organization) and CSW (Commission on the Status of Women), our delegates engaged in opening speeches, research, working papers, negotiations, and the drafting of resolutions alongside fellow participants.

The conference provided a valuable platform for students to strengthen their research, communication, collaboration, confidence, and leadership skills, while gaining deeper insight into global issues and international diplomacy.

Celebrating a Birthday the Healthy Way!

Celebrated a special day by offering healthy alternatives to chocolates in the form of nutritious dry fruits, spreading joy while encouraging mindful and healthy choices.

Day 4 of Science Week 2026 encouraged students to explore how a simple question can become the starting point for a remarkable scientific discovery.

Students of Classes VII, VIII, IX and XI researched landmark discoveries and lesser-known scientific contributions, exploring the scientists behind them and their impact on society. Their work reflected genuine curiosity and a willingness to look beyond textbook knowledge.

Students of Class VI added a creative dimension by designing science-based puzzles and crosswords on topics including microorganisms, the respiratory system, space science, and scientists and their discoveries.

The activities strengthened research, communication, curiosity, and creative thinking, inspiring students to not only seek answers but also ask questions that can make a difference.

MGD Girls’ School students attended Classical Chronicles – Indian Classical Music Workshop, organised at Subodh Public School on 8 August 2026, offering a soulful journey into the rich heritage of Indian classical music.

The workshop featured performances by Shree Vikram Shrivastava on vocals, accompanied by Shree Varun Sharma on tabla and Shree Kuldeep Panwar on harmonium. The programme explored Raag Bhairav, Raag Miya ki Todi, and Raag Gurjan Todi, followed by soulful bhajans that created an atmosphere of peace and devotion.

The enriching experience encouraged students to appreciate traditional art forms and understand the cultural significance of preserving India's musical heritage for future generations.
