LSRW Activity: Talking Hands – Class V

The Talking Hands activity encouraged students to integrate all four language skills Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing through a meaningful exercise in self-expression and reflection.

Each student created a life-sized paper cut-out of their hand, decorated it creatively, and filled it with words representing the qualities they believe a good person should possess such as kindness, honesty, courage, empathy, respect, and perseverance.

The hand served as a metaphorical representation of the self. Just as it is their hand, the values written upon it are the qualities they aspire to embody in their daily lives. Students listened to their peers’ ideas, discussed the importance of these virtues, read the words displayed by others, and articulated the significance of their own choices.

Through this activity, language learning extended beyond words, fostering character development, self-awareness, and thoughtful communication.
