Often we get call from freshly minted CAs asking us to help them with finding a job but the catch is that they call us after 90-100 days of declaration results and this is how they introduce themselves - "Hi Sir, I am a recently qualified CA looking for a job".

Generally in this case my first question is what were you doing in these last 90-100 days and the answer is "sir I was preparing for campus", and when we ask what about off campus opportunities?
The astonishing answer is sir " woh toh ab karenge"

Now this funnel of Result- Campus- Off campus is the most ineffective funnel one can use to bag jobs.

Entrepreneurship is a spirit, a trait, which is often misunderstood as self employment!!

I often come across my students coming back to me in just few months of joining their first job and telling me- "Sir yahan koi sikhata nhi h; sir office politics bahut hai; sir kisi ne kuch bataya nhi".

I surely lend them my empathetic ears and sometimes do feel they are right however somewhere the alter ego in my head provokes me to tell them blatantly - you all have always been spoilt of choices, you all have "always been spoon fed" throughout your entire curriculum and above all, you all lack the spirit to fight it out like an entrepreneur.

Expecting a smooth sail in profession, job, life and personal equations is no less than living in a fools land, desirable yet unachievable.

I believe being a self starter and a self driven individual gives us a sense of purpose and direction. Experimenting and failing, reaching out for help even when not many are cooperating and learning by doing are the most unappreciated traits that every professional should develop.

I would like to end this note by saying don't be a puppet of your managers, your mentors and your friends, do listen to them but analyze what suits you the best and be open for experiential learning.

If Thomas Edison would have looked for help, mentorship and guidance he surely wouldn't have been the inventor of bulbs.
Be open, be courageous and as I always say fail often to succeed.

CA Results- A Small conversation with our friends awaiting result!!

At this outset where your result can be declared anytime, i would not like to write any cliché post that you must be reading over this and other social media network.
I would just like to say that the moment you consider this day a life changing day or a D-day in your life just before when the declaration of the result is on the cusp, you are falling into a deep trap of extreme pressure, high expectations and pseudo sense of fear of failure. If you pass you will be so happy that you wont be open to foresee things and might close doors for experimental learning and if you fail you might feel deep agony and pain. So why trap ourselves in this emotional roller coaster ride.

Solution- Take this moment and day as a normal day or event which will surely change few things for you in the short run but in larger schemes of things it will merely be an event if you pass. Further kindly note that the result was seized the day you appeared your for last exam, so why worry now??

I know its very difficult to keep the nerves in check at this moment and hence sharing a picture of MS Dhoni who kept his nerves under check even during 2007, 2011 World cups, Champions trophy final match and at many occasions which were big for him. Moreover he in one of the press conferences also shared his experience that whether he wins a match or loses one the dogs at his home treats him with the same love and belongingness, and similarly whether you pass or you fail the people who matter in your life will treat you the same way. Result is merely a quantification, your skills and ability to experiment will take you places.
So relax, take rest and enjoy the day and don't stress out.
And now some cliché wish- ALL THE BEST!!
