Happy Republic Day! 🇮🇳

I'm sharing the speech I delivered at our company's Republic Day celebration. While preparing for this address, the Alex Prettie case deeply affected me and inspired much of what I wanted to say.

In this speech, I talk about: • The difference between Law and Constitution • How we interpret and follow laws in our daily lives • The concept of 'कर्तव्य बोध' (sense of civic duty) • Why it's important for each of us to hold opinions and raise our voices

As professionals and citizens, we interact with laws every single day—whether it's compliance at work, traffic rules on our commute, or simply understanding our rights and responsibilities. This Republic Day, I wanted us to reflect on what it truly means to be informed, responsible citizens.

The speech is a bit lengthy and delivered in a mix of Hindi and English, but I hope it resonates with you.

Understanding Your Rights & Duties as an Indian | Alex Prettie Case | Republic Day Speech 2026 🇮🇳 This Republic Day, let’s talk about something important…I was invited to give a speech at my company for Republic Day, and I wasn’t sure where to begin....

अक्सर यह सवाल हमारे Founder, Kunal Jain से पूछा जाता है:
“अमेरिका और भारत की शिक्षा व्यवस्था में सबसे बड़ा फर्क क्या है?”

Kunal Jain का अनुभव (22+ वर्षों तक अमेरिका में रहने और अपने बच्चों की स्कूलिंग को करीब से देखने के बाद) यही कहता है कि भारत में शिक्षा आज भी कई जगह रटने, पाठ्यक्रम पूरा करने और ‘सही जवाब’ पर केंद्रित है, जबकि अमेरिका में बच्चों को रचनात्मकता और Critical Thinking (आलोचनात्मक सोच) के लिए तैयार किया जाता है। वहाँ बच्चों को सवाल पूछने, अपनी बात रखने, चर्चा करने और “क्यों” समझने की आदत डाली जाती है—सिर्फ़ “क्या” याद करने की नहीं।

और इसी सोच को राजस्थान में धरातल पर उतारने के लिए Kaushalam Foundation लगातार काम कर रहा है—ताकि शिक्षा का मतलब केवल परीक्षा पास करना नहीं, बल्कि सोचने, बोलने, बनाने और आगे बढ़ने की क्षमता विकसित करना हो।

Building a local economy through traditional trade methods makes the entire social project self-sustaining. There is no harm in social organisations exploring the adoption of such ventures within the not-for-profit sector and using them for the well-being of society.
