The IIHMR University has been established and incorporated as a postgraduate research University by Government of Rajasthan vide the IIHMR University Ordinance, 2013 (Ordinance No 30 of 2013) promulgated on September 27, 2013, by the Governor which was replaced by the IIHMR University Act, 2014 (Act No. 3,
of 2014) passed by the State Legislature on February 07, 2014. The Act of 2014 received the assent of the Governor on the 25th day of February 2014 and was notified in Rajasthan Gazette Extraordinary on February 26, 2014. The genesis of the IIHMR University dates back to October 5, 1984, when its sponsoring body, the Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) was established and registered as a non-profit Society under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act, 1958. The Institute was established with a mission of improvement in standards of health through improve management of health care and related programs through management research, education, training, consultation, and institutional networking in a national and global perspective IIHMR successfully created and established a new discipline of health management in the country. Over the last 39 years, IIHMR has established itself as a unique research, education and training organization in India and Southeast Asian Region. After having pursued the cause of management research, academics, and capacity building exclusively in the health sector for about three decades, the institute submitted a proposal before the State Government under the guidelines for the establishment of private universities by separate Act. The proposal of the university was accepted by the government. The faculty is multi-disciplinary that represents public health, management, economics, statistics, demography, social and behavioural sciences, rural development, and pharmaceutical sector. The University has collaborations with major universities and institutions like Johns Hopkins University, USA; Chester University, UK; University of Montreal, Canada; Curtin University, Australia. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India identified it as ‘Institute of Excellence’ for its significant contribution to strengthening health systems by promoting and conducting health policy and program management, research, training and capacity building. Over the past three and half decades, the University is engaged in research, education and capacity building in the core areas of Public Health, Health and Hospital Management, Pharmaceutical Management, Health Economics and Finance, Population and Reproductive Health, Rural Management, Institutional Networking and capacity building.

IIHMR University, Jaipur, takes immense pride in celebrating a monumental achievement by Jaipur’s very own celebrated singer and cultural ambassador, Ms. Manesha A Agarwal.
In a moment of extraordinary pride for the entire nation, her soulful song "Padharo Mhare Des" was played on a global platform during the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji's official visit to the Netherlands.
The song that was first released in 2011 brought together a galaxy of stars from the world of music including Maestros like Ustad Sultan Khan, Jagjit Singh, Manesha Meera, Roopkumar Rathod, Ustad Ahmad Hussain, Ustad Muhammad Hussain, Salil Bhat, Mohammad Vakil and Jewels of Rajasthan – the folk Musicians – Gulabo, Anwar khan and Ghaze Khan.
Ms. Manesha has beautifully taken the essence of Rajasthan's traditional music and fused it with modern sensibilities, captivating audiences worldwide. From her chart-topping tracks like "Banna Re" and "Nimbooda" to her divine Krishna Bhajans, her musical journey is a masterclass in dedication and artistic brilliance.
Beyond her personal milestones, her commendable initiative, Arpan Music Lab through Arpan Foundation, continues to nurture young talent and preserve the rich cultural legacy of Rajasthan for future generations.
