🟣 Kaveri/ Cauvery river

In Headlines : According to Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, the strict enforcement of lockdown has reduced the pollution in Cauvery River.

The river flows primarily through Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

It rises in the Brahmagiri range near Cherangala village of Kodagu (Coorg) district of Karnataka and drains into the Bay of Bengal.

It is bounded by Western Ghats, Eastern Ghats and by the ridges separating it from Krishna basin and Pennar basin.

Cauvery basin extends over states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and UT of Puducherry.

Tributaries: • Left Bank: the Harangi, the Hemavati, the Shimsha and the Arkavati.

• Right Bank: Lakshmantirtha, the Kabbani, the Suvarnavati, the Bhavani, the Noyil and the Amaravati.

On the Cauvery, lies the “Grand Anicut dam” said to have been constructed by Chola King in 1st century A.D.

The Indian Constitution is, in a significant sense, a cosmopolitan constitution. Elucidate. (150 Words)

Model answer

Introduction:
Cosmopolitanism is the idea of universalism which believes that all humanity regardless of political and social affiliations are citizens of a single community

Body:
-In its preamble, the constitution talks of principles of liberty, equality, and fraternity which originated from the ‘French Revolution’.

-These values are naturally cherished by all human beings across the national boundaries for peace and prosperity.

-Its values and its jurisprudence have been situated at the major cross-currents of global constitutional law. It represented a confluence of many sources and traditions.

-For instance, it was profoundly shaped by the system of English Common Law that had effectively been institutionalized in India.

-The constitution also bore a deep imprint of the Government of India Act 1935.

- It borrowed Directive Principles of State Policy from the Irish Constitution and was influenced by the American debates over due process.

Conclusion:
-Due to its cosmopolitanism rooted in the inviolable principles, the Indian constitution served and continues to serve as an inspirational light to post-colonial countries aspiring for the creation of a democratic society.

▪️अडाणी ग्रीन एनर्जी लिमिटेड (एजीईएल) की सहायक कंपनी अडाणी हाइब्रिड एनर्जी जैसलमेर वन लिमिटेड की ओर से लगाए गए इस प्लांट की बिजली उत्पादन क्षमता 390 मेगावॉट है।

▪️इस प्लांट में बनने वाली बिजली को बेचने को कंपनी ने 25 साल के लिए भारतीय सौर ऊर्जा निगम (एसईसीआई) के साथ 2.69 प्रति किलोवॉट की शुल्क दर से बिजली खरीद समझौता (पीपीए) किया गया है,

🌀 What is wet bulb temperature?

➖ The wet-bulb temperature (WBT) is the temperature read by a thermometer covered in water-soaked cloth (a wet-bulb thermometer) over which air is passed.

➖ At 100% relative humidity, the wet-bulb temperature is equal to the air temperature (dry-bulb temperature);

➖ At lower humidity the wet-bulb temperature is lower than dry-bulb temperature because of evaporative cooling.

➖ The wet-bulb temperature is defined as the temperature of a parcel of air cooled to saturation (100% relative humidity) by the evaporation of water into it, with the latent heat supplied by the parcel.

➖ A wet-bulb thermometer indicates a temperature close to the true (thermodynamic) wet-bulb temperature.

➖ The wet-bulb temperature is the lowest temperature that can be reached under current ambient conditions by the evaporation of water only.

➖ When the severity and frequency of high heat increases, there is a marker to determine the possibility of fatality, which is wet bulb temperature.

➖ The highest acceptable wet-bulb temperature for humans is 35 °C (95 °F) for six hours. Above that point, even healthy people begin to develop serious, often deadly health problems.
