Every year, India celebrates 2nd October as Gandhi Jayanti. This year the country will celebrate the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatama Gandhi.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is fondly remembered by people across the world as Mahatama and Bapu. He was born in Porbandar, Gujarat. On this day people celebrate the great leader and remember his contribution in India's freedom. The day is also celebrated as Internation Day of Non-Violence. This is because Mahatma Gandhi followed the path of ahimsa (non-violence) during India's freedom struggle.
