🌍✨ Celebrating Innovation for a Greener Tomorrow! ✨🌍
On the occasion of 2026, Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology, in association with the The National Academy Of Sciences, India (NASI), Rajasthan Chapter, successfully organised an Environment-Themed Startup Pitching Competition, bringing together young environmental innovators from schools, colleges, and universities.
With nearly 50 teams participating, the competition showcased groundbreaking ideas addressing climate action, waste management, sustainable agriculture, renewable resources, environmental monitoring, circular economy models, and eco-friendly technologies.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Professor H.N Verma, Pro-Chancellor & Pro-Chairperson, Jaipur National University and Guest of Honour Prof. Nirmal Lohiya, Senior Scientist & Secretary, NASI Rajasthan Chapter. The dignitaries were welcomed by Mr. Saksham Gupta, Director, Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology, who reiterated the institute’s commitment to fostering innovation-led solutions for environmental sustainability.
The competition was evaluated by an eminent jury comprising Mr. Jerry Joshy (Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell - MIC, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Headquarters), Dr. Nivedita Kaul, Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, Dr. Sohan Lal (Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board), and Dr. Abhishek Soti (BlueDrop Enviro Pvt. Ltd.).
During the valedictory session, Dr. Aparna Datta, Executive Director & Principal, announced the winners and congratulated all participants for their commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable innovation. The winners were:

To support the journey from ideas to impact, the winning team from the School Category and the winning team from the College & University Category were each awarded an Incubation Grant of ₹25,000 along with one year of incubation support at the Incubation Centre, Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology.
The event reaffirmed the collective commitment of academia, scientific institutions, and young innovators toward creating sustainable solutions for a healthier, greener, and more resilient future. The event concluded with a plantation drive under the Government of India’s "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative, reinforcing the collective commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable living.🌱♻️

🌍 World Environment Day 2026 | Inspiring Action for a Sustainable Future 🌱
On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, we proudly exhibited our sustainability initiatives at the Constitutional Club of Rajasthan, Rajasthan Assembly, Jaipur.
We were deeply honoured by the gracious presence of our respected Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma Ji, who visited our stall and appreciated the sustainable efforts and environmental conservation initiatives undertaken by our institution. His encouraging words further strengthened our resolve to work towards a greener future.
Simultaneously, our students, accompanied by Vice Principal Dr. Sonika Saxena and Research & Project Associate Ms. Amanpreet Kaur, participated in the World Environment Day celebrations at B.P. Poddar Institute Of Management and Technology, Jaipur, organised in collaboration with Vigyan Bharati Rajasthan.
The event featured insightful sessions on Net Zero, Pollution Management, Green Energy, and Sustainability, providing valuable perspectives on addressing contemporary environmental challenges.
A highlight of the event was Dr. Sonika Saxena’s presentation on the remarkable transformation journey of Aandhi Village, showcasing the power of community-driven environmental initiatives and their lasting impact.
Our students were also introduced to the 120-Hour Internship Programme under Vigyan Bharati, opening pathways for meaningful engagement in sustainability-focused research and projects.
Together, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for generations to come.

🔬 3-Day Hands-on Workshop on Virtual Drug Screening!
The RD&I Department and Institutions Innovation Council of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology, in collaboration with Proxima Biogenics, successfully organised a 3-day hands-on workshop on “Virtual Drug Screening”.
The workshop provided participants with practical exposure to modern computational drug discovery approaches. Key topics covered included:
✅ Introduction to bioinformatics tools and biological databases
✅ Molecular visualization using PyMOL and Discovery Studio
✅ Fundamentals of molecular docking
✅ Macromolecule and ligand preparation
✅ Docking studies using AutoDock4, AutoDock Vina, SwissDock, and CHARMM-GUI
✅ Analysis and interpretation of docking results
✅ Introduction to molecular dynamics simulations (NAMD/VMD-based workflows)
✅ Basics of protein modeling and structure-based drug design
The sessions, conducted by Dr. Sanjay Purohit (Proxima Biogenics), combined theoretical concepts with hands-on training, enabling participants to gain valuable skills in computer-aided drug discovery.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and researchers, fostering innovation and practical learning in the field of bioinformatics and pharmaceutical research.
