Indian students check their phones an average of 150 times per day and spend 4-7 hours on their smartphones - study from 2018. Imagine how far this data will go in 2023!
In addition to wasting time, it also reduces focus, causes anxiety and creates FOMO.
Here are 9 proven ways to reduce phone distraction as a student:
1️⃣Keep your phone away: Believe it or not, your phone is a major distraction while you are studying. Just put it away while you are studying. Keep your phone in another room. Put down your phone and get back to reading physical books.
2️⃣Use it to record a timelapse: You can use your phone to record yourself from the side or from the back. It can help you to study consistency for longer hours.
3️⃣Turn off push notifications: Just head on to Settings > Notifications to set your preferences. Turn off all the push notifications from social media apps like Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc and do the same thing with OTT platforms. Logging out of apps can even force you to enter long passwords every time you want to use them.
4️⃣Screen time management: You can use the digital wellbeing app or YourHour app to manage your screen time. It should not be longer than 1.5 hours or max 2 hours.
5️⃣Setup an app timer: Set a time limit for your overused apps from the digital well-being app and see the magic!
6️⃣Kick your device out of your bed: Don’t let your phone be the last thing you see at night and the first thing you check in the morning. You can seek help from your parents in this case. When you sleep, give your phone to them and use a physical alarm clock to wake up.
7️⃣Play with your Home Screen: You can place your apps in certain ways so that they are not easily accessible to you.
8️⃣Be mindful: These tips and tricks are just there for you psychologically. But remember one thing: Either you can control the phone or the phone can control you! Be mindful of its usage and understand that it's a virtual world.
Tell us in the comments which one step you'll be using first to reduce your phone distraction👇

What's the real meaning of Study smarter, not harder?
Is it too study for shorter duration?
Or is it about some study hack?
It simply means you don't have to slave over your work for it to be good. Everybody works differently.
Every Student is different, their situations are different and that means they can apply their individual methods for studying.
✨ Know what's the right time for you to study - Morning/ Afternoon/ Evening or Night?
✨ When is your energy highest?
✨ When are you most focussed?
✨ Where do you feel comfortable to study?
✨ Are you an individual learner or you need someone to accompany you?
✨ How you study?
These are some of the question to know yourself better.
