Technology is everywhere. It is in your pocket, inside your house and even proposed to be inside your bodies. It affects how we play, work and even how we learn. Whether we like it or not, technology is everywhere; and in order for our students to survive in post-secondary education and the business world, they must know technology.
To narrow it down we have identified 5 core reasons why technology should be combined with traditional educational methods, so that your ward can receive holistic knowledge:
1) Everyone is different
We have 1.6 billion plus strong population in India and yet it can be said that everyone is different. We all have different speeds of learning, different understanding of concepts and different methods of remembering information. While traditional educational methods have served us well till now, but it has failed to treat everyone as per their unique needs. Some students learn better while they listen, some learn better while they see and others do better when they do experiments. Online education in India has so many options to cater each unique attribute of a child’s needs.
2) Learn at your own pace
Traditional education methods make an assumption that each student is learning at the same pace. In practical situations, we are teaching a snail to run like a Cheetah or an elephant to swim like a fish. Every child is unique and so are their learning needs. Through online education the pace of learning can be controlled. The topics which are difficult to understand can be revisited, these topics can be explained in a different manner and more so ever the experience of learning can become very engaging.
3) It does not have to be costly
We all have pocket laptops(mobiles) with us. Additionally we have the biggest free video library ever compiled in human history aka YOUTUBE. All videos are free and you will be surprised to find educational content and learning communities which are extremely helpful and welcoming to new students.
4) Children demand Technology
We all know that children know Technology better than adults. It has become the easiest way they learn, because it is such an integral part of their life. Children are engaging with technology constantly outside of the classroom. Children like to be interactive, and learning through technology has now become a part of their lifestyle.
5) Testing has gone online
Testing online is the way of the future and it has a lot of advantages. Assessing students’ performance can be done instantly with technology. Beyond seeing test scores in real-time, teachers can better track and understand students’ grasp of the subject. All major entrance examinations (Engineering/ Medical/Law) in India have gone online.Studying online will prepare Children for the years ahead.
