Under the able guidance of college Principal (Addl. Charge) Dr. Amandeep Kaur, the players of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd won a total of 02 gold,02 silver medals and 01 bronze medal at the Block and District levels inthe recently concluded Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan games. Muskan Gill of B.A- 2nd year and Sumandeep Kaur B.A- 1st year brought laurels by winning gold medal and Pardeep Kaur of B.A- 2nd and Bani of B.A -2nd year won Silver Medal in boxing held at Kishori Lal Jethi Government Senior Secondary School Khanna. The College Kabaddi team qualified for District level and won Bronze medal at District level held at Guru Nanak Stadium Ludhiana. In Kick boxing, Muskan Gill of B.A- 2nd year qualified for District level. The college Principal congratulated the players and appreciated the efforts of Dr. Paramdeep Singh, Head of the Department of Physical Education for these outstanding achievements.

On September 25th 2024, NSS Units and Red Ribbon Club of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, as per the directions of Youth Services Ludhiana, organised a one-day lecture on ‘Drug Addiction’. The resource person of the day was Dr. Amarpreet Singh Deol (Deol Hospital, Mullanpur). The objective of the lecture was to educate students about the causes, effects and prevention of Drug Addiction. The lecture covered various aspects of the topic including; understanding addiction, causes and risk factors, consequences of drug abuse, recognising signs of addiction and preventive measures. The lecture was followed by an interactive session where the students asked questions and share their concerns on compulsive drug use. Dr. Deol emphasized that unlike drug addiction which is stigmatised, social media addiction often ignored, allowing it to escalate unchecked. 84 students were participated in the event. The College Principal Dr. Amandeep Kaur acknowledged the resource person for dedicating time and sharing his expertise on such a critical issue. She also commended that such sessions play a crucial role in empowering students to make informed decisions and encouraging them to support others who might be struggling.

On 28 September 2024, under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Social Sciences forum celebrated 117th Birth Anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam S. Bhagat Singh. On this occasion, Poem recitation and Speech competition based on the theme ‘Patriotism and Revolutionary Ideology of S. Bhagat Singh’ were organised. In poem recitation competition, first prize was secured by Harpreet Kaur of BA II, Second prize by Shubhangi Kumari of B.Sc. III and third prize by Manmehak Kaur of BA II. In Speech competition, first prize was secured by Harjot Kaur of B.Com II, Second prize by Sehajreet kaur of B.Com I and third prize by Muskanpreet Kaur of B.Sc. III. Dr. Navdip Kaur, Incharge of Social Sciences forum encouraged the students to reflect on the ideals of courage, patriotism and sacrifice. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, who showcased their knowledge and creativity inspired by S. Bhagat Singh’s legacy. Mrs. Karamdeep Kaur conducted the stage gracefully. Judgement of the events was done by Dr. Balwinder Kaur and Mr. Ashish Kumar. Esteemed Teachers of Social Sciences forum and 109 Students graced the event, making it a memorable and inspiring occasion.

On 27 September 2024, under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Amandeep Kaur, The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Khalsa College for Women Sidhwan Khurd organized personal grooming and professional development workshop in collaboration with Procter and Gamble (P&G) with official training partners Right Side Story. The resource person was Miss Amardeep Kaur, Youth well being expert (P&G). Dr. Navdip Kaur welcomed the resource person. The workshop aimed at enhancing the personal and professional development of students by providing them with insights on grooming, confidence building, and effective communication skills. The session was led by expert from Procter & Gamble, who shared her knowledge on personal care especially during menstrual days, professional etiquette, and the importance of self-presentation in both academic and corporate settings. Special emphasis was given to the Menstruation and well being. The lecture provided valuable insights into the biological, emotional, and social aspects of menstruation. Cultural taboos and myths related to the menstruation were discussed. Through a combination of interactive sessions and real-life case studies, students learned the significance of maintaining a strong personal brand. The event was attended by students across various departments, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants expressing their appreciation for the practical tips and guidance provided by the expert. Menstrual Hygiene Kits were distributed to the students to support their well being during menstrual days. Resource person was honoured and formal vote of thanks was given by Convenor of the IQAC, Ms Roopa Kaur Rai. This collaboration with Procter & Gamble highlights the commitment of the college to provide students with opportunities for holistic development, preparing them not only academically but also for future career challenges.

Total 14 Students participated in this competition and results were declared on 17 September, 2024. Gagandeep Kaur of B.A.BEd II and Manmehak of B.A.II got first prize. Garima of B.Com II and Taranpreet Kaur of BCA II got second prize. Anshdeep and Gagandeep of B.A. I year got third prize. Princedeep of B.A. I and Sukhjeet of B.Sc. II got Consolation prizes. College Principal congratulated the incharge teachers and participants. She said that such events create awareness on contemporary social issues and provide an opportunity to students to display their talent.

On September 21, 2024, under the able guidance of Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Principal (Addl. Charge), Commerce Club of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd organized PPT Competition on the theme “Business Proposal and Pamphlet Designing ” for the students of Commerce Department to develop valuable skills, showcase creativity and entrepreneurial skills. A total of 8 teams enthusiastically participated in the competition. There were two rounds in this competition, in the first round the participants presented their business ideas and in second round questions were asked about their business proposals. Team comprising of Manpreet Kaur, Arshpreet Kaur and Manjot Kaur from B.com-III stood first, team of Diksha and Harmandeep Kaur from M.com-I secured second position and team comprising of Jeewanjot Kaur and Anchal from M.com-II got third position. Consolation Prize was given to team of Simranjit Kaur and Ravneet Kaur. The primary objective of this competition was to encourage entrepreneurship, enhance presentation skills, develop problem solving techniques and encourange creativity. Assistant Professor Harmanpreet Kaur and Assistant Professor Harpreet Kaur were judges for today’s completion. Dr. Navdip Kaur, the Chief Guest of this competition commended the dedication of the Commerce Department and congratulated the participants and winners.
