Healing from a C-section is major surgery recovery + taking care of a newborn. To protect your incision and speed up recovery, avoid these 3 big things:

1️⃣ Heavy Lifting & Strenuous Exercise:-

Stick to lifting only your baby for the first 6–8 weeks. Avoid heavy lifting, intense cardio, core exercises, or bending repeatedly. Giving your abdominal muscles time to knit back together is essential to prevent tearing or herniation.

2️⃣ Ignoring Signs of Infection or Excessive Pain:-

Don't "tough it out." Avoid ignoring warning signs like increased redness, swelling, warmth around the incision, foul-smelling discharge, sudden fever, or pain that gets worse instead of better. Always contact your healthcare provider if something feels off.

3️⃣Load Up on Fiber & Stay Hydrated 💧
Pain medications and surgery can slow down digestion. To avoid painful straining, eat high-fiber foods (oats, chia seeds, berries, leafy greens, legumes) and drink plenty of water. Smooth digestion protects your abdominal incision.

Focus on lean meats, eggs, fish, tofu, Greek yogurt, and bone broth. Collagen-rich foods help rebuild skin and muscle tissue at the incision site.
