Bengia Ama has demonstrated an inspiring commitment to science, technology and grassroots innovation, with achievements at both national and international platforms.

His notable achievements include:

🏆2nd Position – 9th National Level Exhibition and Project Competition (NLEPC), INSPIRE Awards–MANAK, 2022, New Delhi, for his innovation “Modified Arra for Multipurpose Use.”

🏆3rd Position – International Museum Expo 2024, Kolkata.

🏆1st Position – Arunachal Science League 2026, for his innovation “Hands-Free Cooking Device.”

🏆Represented India at the 3rd ASEAN–India Grassroots Innovation Forum in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in 2022.

🏆Represented India through the Sakura Exchange Science High School Program in Japan, gaining exposure to leading institutions including the University of Tokyo, Chiba University and JAXA.
He is also associated with the Sakura Science Club, Japan, and is an active member of the Innovation Hub, Itanagar, under APSCST. His innovation has also been featured in the Innovation Hub’s Hall of Fame.

Chamu Kamchung secured 🏆 2nd Runner-Up position at the State Red Run 2026, organised by the Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS), Directorate of Health Services, Naharlagun, held on 25 September 2026.

The college congratulates both students on their accomplishments and appreciates their efforts in bringing pride and recognition to Don Bosco College Itanagar. Their achievements reflect the importance of nurturing innovation, talent, social engagement and excellence alongside academic learning.

Inaugural Ceremony of Intramural Competition 2026–27
The Inaugural Ceremony of the Intramural Competition 2026–27 of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, Don Bosco College, Itanagar, was held on 25th September 2026 with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit.
The inaugural competition featured March Past and Discus Throw, with enthusiastic participation from the two houses—Kangto House (Red House) and Patkai House (Blue House).
The event showcased the students’ discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship and competitive spirit, setting an energetic tone for the Intramural Competition 2026–27.

Ethnic Club Organises Traditional Games Competition at Don Bosco College, Jollang||

On 26th September, the Ethnic Club of Don Bosco College, Jollang, Itanagar organised a Traditional Games Competition at the college volleyball court celebrating the richness of indigenous culture, heritage and traditional practices.

The programme commenced at 10:30 a.m. with enthusiastic participation from students representing various departments of the college. The event brought together students in a spirit of enthusiasm, camaraderie, fun and cultural appreciation while providing them with an opportunity to reconnect with traditional forms of recreation and physical activity.

The competition featured traditional games including Bamboo Race, Bamboo Wrestling and Five Stones (Pach Patthar). These games, rooted in indigenous cultural traditions, offered students a chance to experience and appreciate traditional practices that have been passed down through generations.

The initiative was organised with the aim of reviving, preserving and promoting traditional games among the younger generation, ensuring that these cultural practices do not gradually disappear in a rapidly changing society.

Through such initiatives, Don Bosco College continues to encourage its students to value, celebrate and preserve indigenous traditions and cultural heritage for generations to come.

On 25th September 2026, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Don Bosco College, Jollang, Itanagar organized its Initiation cm Orientation Day with the motto “Not Me, But You” and the spirit of “Serving the Nation through Youth”.

The programme began with the Felicitation of Fr. Jose George and Fr. Mathai followed by a warm Welcome Address by Gangjai Gangsa. The event was enriched with vibrant cultural performances including a Traditional Dance, Solo Song, Duet Song and Modern Dance by the NSS volunteers.

The gathering was inspired by the insightful Speech by Fr. Jose George, Principal Don Bosco College, and Speech by Fr. Mathai, Rector. A detailed Presentation by PO Samsom Mossang oriented the new volunteers about the objectives, activities and significance of NSS in building character, discipline and a spirit of selfless service.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Sonia Dini.

The orientation successfully motivated the new volunteers to embrace the values of NSS and actively contribute towards community service and nation building.

Career Counselling and Awareness Programme Organised at Don Bosco College, Itanagar

The Workshop and Training Programme Cell, Don Bosco College, Itanagar, in collaboration with Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training, Itanagar, organised a Career Counselling and Awareness Programme on 21 September 2026 at the College Auditorium.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Khyoda Anju, Coordinator, along with Dr. Ajay Pandey and Mr. Sersang Naksang, Assistant Coordinators of the Workshop and Training Programme Cell.

The session aimed to broaden students’ awareness of career opportunities in the aviation, hospitality, travel and tourism, and allied service sectors. The representatives from Frankfinn Institute provided valuable insights into diverse career pathways, job profiles, professional expectations, and the skills required to pursue careers in these industries.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students and was followed by an engaging interactive session, where students raised questions regarding career prospects, eligibility, professional skills, and opportunities in the aviation industry.

The session proved to be an enriching and informative experience for the students, providing them with greater clarity about emerging career opportunities and encouraging them to explore diverse professional pathways.

International Day of Democracy Observed at Don Bosco College

The Department of Political Science observed the International Day of Democracy with an engaging and thought-provoking programme aimed at creating awareness among students about the meaning, values, and significance of democracy in contemporary society.

As part of the programme, Dr. Khoda Anju, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, delivered an insightful address on “Understanding the True Meaning of Democracy.” The session moved beyond the conventional understanding of democracy as merely a system of elections and governance, highlighting its broader significance in terms of participation, equality, freedom of expression, respect for differences, and responsible citizenship.

The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who actively engaged with the ideas and perspectives shared during the address. The interactive nature of the programme encouraged students to reflect on the role and responsibilities of citizens in strengthening democratic values.

The programme served as a meaningful academic platform for students to understand that democracy is not merely a form of government but a way of life founded on dialogue, participation, mutual respect, and equality.

TURNING POINT - A Grace-filled Journey Concludes! 🙏✨

The two-day Jesus Youth National Level Orientation Program - TURNING POINT held at Don Bosco College, Itanagar on 13th & 14th September concluded successfully!

Two days filled with Praise & Worship, Inspiring Sessions, Holy Mass, Adoration, Fellowship and Joy. Truly a turning point for many young hearts!

We thank all the participants, resource persons, volunteers and the Jesus Youth team for making this program a blessed experience.

May the fire that started here continue to burn!
