Compensation Delay Raises Concern Among Land-Affected Villagers Under Taliha–Tato Frontier Highway Project:

NUNGNU 19.09.2026 : The prolonged delay in compensation payments for land affected by the Taliha–Tato Frontier Highway Project has become a growing concern among villagers under Nungnu jurisdiction, with 47 beneficiaries reportedly still awaiting their compensation.
According to details from the affected area, a total of 132 land-affected beneficiaries are involved in the compensation process. Of these, 85 beneficiaries have received their payments, while 47 beneficiaries are yet to receive their compensation.
The last compensation payment was reportedly made on 26 June 2025. Since then, the remaining beneficiaries have reportedly continued to wait for their payments, with the pending cases now extending for more than one year.
The prolonged delay has created difficulties for affected families whose land and properties have been impacted by the highway project. For these families, compensation is an important entitlement to help manage the consequences of land acquisition, livelihood disruption and other expenses arising from the project.
Potential Impact on Project Progress:
The unresolved compensation issue may also have implications for the smooth implementation of the highway project.
