Shivani,

This name is very close to the life of an engineer passing from RGPV. There are many views about this great effort done by someone and dedicated to young engineers.

Teachers hate ( exceptions are always there) and students love.

But we will suggest a mix of both, because passing a subject shivani is nice but for gaining knowledge books are only option. So here we suggest some DOs and DOnts about shivani,

DOnts,

1. Do not buy shivani in the start of semester.
2. Do not buy second hand shivani, try to grab a new one.
3. Dont rely on the shivani answers blindly, please cross check them from the books.
4. Never use a shivani book, only as QB is fine.

DOs

1. Do refer latest shivani for syllabus.
2. Have a good look to all questions of all units from shivani (only Questions I suggest)

Other then above, I would suggest to use only books for important subject(I would publish college to corporate mapping of subjects soon for CS) because whenever you will go to the interviews in future and will work in companies then you will feel how important is to read from a good book. So for good subjects please avoid shivani, just refer for questions.

English Speaking

This is one of the major problems our students facing, everyone know the reasons behind the same. But rather then cursing others for this, we have to take initiative do something to improve on that.
There are two types of solutions to the same,

1. Difficult
2. Easy

Difficult: Speak more and read more in English

Easy: Speak more and read more in English :)

For reading,

1. Regularly read a national English daily, don’t bother about late editions we are reading for English not for news.

2. Try to read one book a month, (could be novels, philosophies, success stories anything in English)

For Speaking,

Now here the most difficult part comes, everyone will tell you that speak in English within your groups friends, but no one is able to implement yet.

1. Try to use more and more English words in your daily language (both in college and home).

2. DO NOT speak a single Hindi word in classes/lectures/labs.

3. Use English with teachers, even if they are answering in Hindi/Hinglish/Poor-English Don’t give-up from your side, stick to English only.

4. Remember, no one in this world is speaking right English everyone make mistakes, our aim is to speak and speak.

One who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; one who does not ask a question remains a fool forever

Our classroom is meant to ask as many questions as you can. Keep some important things in mind while attanding a class in college,

- Attend a lacture if you want to learn dont sit for the sake of attendance.
- Ask each and every doubt you have in your mind.
- Never think about level of your question, easy things are always doubtful, if you will reamin doubtfull on basics, no one could help you in future.
- No teacher will tell you like,
? you are a engineer,
? you should understand this, don't ask small ,silly questions.
- If teacher has doubt and asked you to tell later, ask him again in the next lecture.

Alwyas keep one thing in mind, "stupid questions r better than stupid mistakes"
