Queensโ€™ College Celebrates World Nature Conservation Week

Demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability and experiential learning, Queensโ€™ College, Indore, observed World Nature Conservation Week from 22nd to 28th July 2026 through a series of impactful field-based activities.

Grade VI students led the Green Guardians Rally at New Rani Bagh, spreading awareness about nature conservation through posters, slogans, and the distribution of fruit and vegetable seed packets. The initiative sensitized students to the importance of increasing green cover, preserving biodiversity, and inspiring communities to actively participate in environmental conservation.

Under the Solar Saksharta Abhiyan, Grade VIII students conducted a door-to-door survey at Rani Bagh to study household electricity consumption, solar panel usage, and renewable energy awareness. Analysing the survey findings helped them understand that greater adoption of solar energy significantly reduces carbon footprint, while also reinforcing the importance of sustainable energy choices.

Grade IX students visited Manav Chetna Vikas Kendra to study soil conservation . Through interactions with agricultural experts, they learned that excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has long-term adverse effects on both soil quality and human health. Students also gained practical exposure to preparing natural compost and bio-pesticides understanding their role in promoting sustainable agriculture.

The week concluded with a special school assembly, where students presented their field findings through insightful PowerPoint presentations supported by analytical data, highlighting practical solutions for environmental conservation and encouraging the school community to adopt eco-conscious practices.
