Can a Husband Claim Maintenance from His Wife? ⚖️

Yes. Under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, maintenance provisions are gender-neutral.

A husband may claim maintenance from his wife:
🔹 During matrimonial proceedings — Section 24 (interim maintenance)
🔹 After divorce — Section 25 (permanent alimony)
🔹 Where he can establish genuine financial dependency and insufficient independent income.

The law does not encourage deliberate idleness. The court considers the financial position, income and earning capacity of both spouses while deciding maintenance.

✨ Maintenance is about need, fairness and justice, not gender.

Know Your Rights. Understand the Law. Seek Justice.

Be proud of how far you’ve come. ✨
The person you are today survived days you once thought you couldn’t.

Humanity knows no borders. Kindness needs no language. 🤍🌍

On World Humanitarian Day — 19 August, we honour the courage, compassion and selfless service of humanitarian workers and volunteers who stand with people affected by conflict, disasters, displacement, poverty and other crises.

The day reminds us of the importance of human dignity, solidarity, compassion and International Humanitarian Law, which seeks to protect people affected by armed conflict.

At Law Colloquy, we believe that awareness of law must go hand in hand with humanity. Let us recognise those who serve others in their most difficult moments and work together for a more just, peaceful and resilient world. ⚖️🕊️

Every act of kindness counts. Every life matters.

“Legal Literacy = Women’s Empowerment”

Legal literacy is power.

You don’t need to be a lawyer to know your rights. A woman who understands the law is better equipped to protect herself, question injustice, support others and demand justice.

Knowing your rights is not just awareness, it is the first step towards empowerment.

Know your rights. Speak up. Stand strong. Empower others.

Different Contexts. Common Aspirations. 🌍✨

On International Youth Day 2026, we celebrate the energy, creativity, resilience and potential of young people across the world.

This year’s theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” reminds us that although young people grow up in diverse social, cultural and economic realities, their aspirations for dignity, equality, opportunity, inclusion, peace and sustainable development are universal.

⚖️ At Law Colloquy, we believe that empowering youth with legal awareness, education, ethical values and opportunities to participate is essential for building a just and inclusive society.

Different backgrounds. Shared dreams. One future.
Let’s empower the youth to become the architects of a just, peaceful and sustainable tomorrow.
