Every CBSE-affiliated school must set up a CSL under Circular Skill-75/2024 (building on NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023). Two years sounds like plenty — which is exactly why most schools will do nothing until it isn't.

Here's the difference the runway makes: the schools that rush in 2027 will buy a room. The schools that start now can build a program — because the circular asks for a skills program across three forms of work, not a stocked store-room.

A first-term readiness checklist:
▪️ Read the circular — map the three forms of work (life forms; machines & materials; human services)
▪️ Confirm the reach — every student, Class VI to X, not one elective group
▪️ Identify a room and a coordinator now, so space isn't the last-minute constraint
▪️ Decide the program first, then let the equipment list follow — not the reverse

Here's what nobody tells you when comparing robotics kits: the grade map matters more than the hardware.

A quick test for any vendor (including us) — ask what a Grade 6 student does differently from a Grade 5 student.

The answer should be specific:
• Grades 3–4: mechanical builds + Scratch-based Primo
• Grade 5: MakeCode blocks. No Python yet — on purpose
• Grade 6: first Python lines + a first AI model, trained by the students
• Grades 7–8: Teachable Machine, Arduino — and MIT App Inventor by Grade 8

And every 5th session should be a challenge students solve without instructions — the 4+1 rhythm.

Anyone can show you Session 1 — the exciting first build sells itself. The harder question is what a child actually does in Session 30, and Session 130, after the novelty wears off and the learning still has to move forward.

Success before complexity — the one rule that fixes most robotics classes.

The first thing a student does should be make something work: a robot that moves. Understanding comes right after the win, not before it. Four guided builds, then one challenge, every five sessions. At Grade 5 that's block coding — MakeCode — not Python.
