Yulu, India’s leading EV micromobility service provider, has raised a further $3.9 million in equity funding, led by US-based VC firm Rocketship and existing investors.
The electric bicycle and scooter rental startup is targeting commuters’ first and last mile connectivity requirements via dockless, battery-powered two-wheelers. The startup began operations in Bangalore in 2017 and has expanded to Pune, Delhi, Mumbai and other cities.
According to Yulu co-founder Amit Gupta, users find frequently sanitized single-seater Yulu electric bikes as a safe mode of commuting during the coronavirus pandemic.

A move to boost financial literacy in India!
Finception was founded in 2018 by three IIM Ahmedabad alumnus, Bhanu Harish Gurram, Shrehith Karkera, Pawan Kumar Rai and one IIT Delhi graduate, Lokesh Gurram. The venture was started with an aim to simplify the understanding of stock markets for a layperson and later went on to increase the financial literacy in the country by launching Finshots. Finshots is a short 3-min story on latest happenings in the finance and business sector. This newsletter is sent to the subscribers mailbox every morning and it diligently covers the main story in an easy to comprehend style. In September of 2019, Zerodha's early stage fintech fund and incubator, Rainmatter invested INR 4 crore in Finception. Zerodha believes that a platform like this will increase financial awareness amongst masses and would ergo lead to an increase in stock market investors.

Pale Blue Dot, a new “climate only” venture capital firm located in Malmö, Sweden, is officially de-cloaking today, with a first close of €53 million.
Primarily targeting startups in Europe at pre-seed and seed, the VC plans to back companies that are using technology to help solve climate problems. The aim is to invest in up to 40 companies out of this first fund, with investment tickets ranging from €200,000 to €2 million.
The fund is described as sector agnostic and will consider software and technology investments with a strong positive climate impact. Current focus areas include food/agriculture, industry, fashion/apparel, energy, and transportation.
