An awareness programme on Comilla Cotton-Based Healthcare Products was organized by the College of Community Science, CAU(I), Tura, Meghalaya, and sponsored by the ICAR–Central Institute for Cotton Research (ICAR-CICR), NEH region.
The programme saw participation of 70 attendees, including faculty, staff, and students. It began with a welcome address by Dr. M.T.G. Momin (CCS Medical Officer), followed by remarks from Dr. Yasmin K. Sangma (Medical Officer, Darrenggre PHC). The Dean, Dr. Jyoti V. Vastrad highlighted the importance of sustainable healthcare solutions for community well-being.
A health screening camp benefited 180 individuals, covering BP, pulse, temperature, height, weight, RBS, haemoglobin, SpO₂, and BMI, promoting preventive healthcare practices within the institution.

KVK East Garo Hills, SMS(Agronomy) & SMS (PP) attended farmers scientist interaction organized by ATMA at Nengkra Awe on 23rd April. The program was ended with awareness lecture on fertility management of soil. Farmers were informed about enhance of soil fertility by bio input and soil nutrition enhancing crops.

An awareness programme on “Early Stimulation and Play-Based Practices for Holistic Development” was successfully organized on 23rd April 2026 as part of the Poshan Pakhwada initiative. The programme aimed to sensitize parents about the critical importance of early childhood stimulation and the role of play in fostering overall development among young children. The programme was graced by Dr. Jyoti V Vastrad, the Dean, CCS, CAU (I), Tura who, in her address, highlighted the significance of early stimulation in shaping brain development during the formative years. A total of 30 parents from the Laboratory Nursery School actively participated in the programme. Dr. Kh.Ringsuachong Aimol delivered a lecture on “Early stimulation and play-based learning”, highlighting simple practices parents can adopt at home for holistic child development. The session was interactive, allowing parents to clarify doubts and share their experiences.

College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura organized a plantation drive under “Grow Plants, Grow with Plants” campaign on the occasion of World Earth Day on April 22, 2026. This initiative has been specially arranged for B.FSc. First Year students as part of an awareness campaign to promote environmental conservation and to instill a sense of responsibility towards protecting our natural surroundings.

KVK East Siang conducted one-day awareness-cum-demonstration programme on drudgery reduction tools and implements at Sikabamin Village on 21st April, 2026. During the programme, demonstrations of a power winnower, seed dibbler, and single-tyne wheel hoe were carried out for the participants. To promote the adoption of these tools, 03 power winnowers, 03 seed dibblers, and 05wheel hoes were distributed among two participating Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

The College of Community Science observed World Earth Day on 22nd April 2026 under the theme “Our Power, Our Planet.” Dr. Jyoti V. Vastrad, Dean, College of Community Science, Central Agricultural University, Tura, motivated all the students and faculty members to adopt energy-efficient practices and move towards a more sustainable lifestyle. This was followed by a plantation drive and a group pledge by the faculty and students. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Geeta Gadekar, Assistant Professor, Department of EECM, CCS, CAU, Tura. The event successfully highlighted the importance of environmental awareness and collective action in addressing ecological challenges.

participation from faculty members, staff, and students, who engaged in discussions regarding ecological responsibility and the urgent need for climate resilience.
