Madhusmita Yoga & Wellness

Madhusmita Yoga & Wellness Madhusmita Yoga & Wellness aims to spread the traditional practices and principles of yoga to all.
🙏 Besides being a yoga teacher, Madhusmita is a Reiki healer.

Madhusmita is a follower of universalism which takes her deeper into the journey of spirituality. The journey of discovering deeper realms of spirituality brought her into yoga and yogic science, and made her a Yoga Alliance International - Certified Yoga Teacher. Madhusmita is an ardent practitioner of traditional Ashtanga Yoga and Hatha Yoga, the practice of which began a decade ago and is yet g

rowing and learning the deeper facets of yoga to spread the compassionate, healing powers of yoga to all. Yoga for Madhusmita is not simply about backbends, headstands, arm-balances and calisthenic twists. It is more of an inward journey to overcome fears, mental blockages and prejudices of mind to have a sound stability in mind-body-spirit. Yoga is neither a destination nor an end, rather, it is a means or a journey to achieve and stay in the sense of calmness when the mind hits the zone of discomfort. Yoga is also not about achieving the "perfect final aasana". According to Maharishi Patanjali's Yogasutra - sthira-sukham-āsanam(II:46) any aasana which gives sthira(stability) and sukham(harmony) without any struggle and pain to body and mind; and where they merge together is a perfect aasana. Namaste.

Each new year offers an exciting opportunity for a fresh start and new beginnings, which is probably why we all look forward to New Year’s Eve so much. No matter what your goals for the coming year are or how many new year’s resolutions you plan on making for 2022, ringing in the start of a new year is a moment to acknowledge. One, to celebrate all of your experiences from 2021; and two, to welcome the new year ahead.

"Make New Year’s goals. Dig within, and discover what you would like to have happen in your life this year. This helps you do your part. It is an affirmation that you’re interested in fully living life in the year to come.” —Melody Beattie

Pose : Eka Hasta Vyaghrasana

The sacred feminine energy is nurturing, soft, grounded with strong boundaries, and trusting of her intuition. The sacred masculine energy is present, logical, and focused with a deep desire to protect and build.

------

Your masculine side gets expressed when you're working toward a goal, making progress, getting things done, and pushing forward. Your feminine side gets expressed when you move with the flow of life, embrace your creative energy, dance, play, and attune to your internal process.

-----
The goal of divine feminine is to unite with divine masculine. When these two energies work together within us, they create a sweet union that allows us to embrace all that makes us human and holy.

I die every moment, shed every old, unwanted part of me only to be reborn again. It has not been a joyous journey so far. It takes a lot of courage to let go of beliefs and stories which are an integral part of being and welcome new ray of light.
---
Practicing acceptance and balancing spirituality with practicality is something which is required to survive in today's world. Although the world has the power to heal, it also holds the power to rip a heart apart, especially for a sensitive heart.
---
"Opening-up" poses are therefore one my most favorite practices. I creates space and flexibility within me to adapt to things that help me grow spiritually, emotionally, mentally. No matter how hard it might seem, it helps me to bounce back stronger than before.

What makes you stronger?

Gomukhasana / 🐮 face pose

A rough, raw, wobbly practice of Eka Pada Bakasana. This pose is fierce in itself and practiced along with vinyasa makes it fiercest. It does strike a fear in my heart. I am not at all perfect in this pose, yet, but I'll keep coming back to this pose.

Falling in the face for hundred times and coming back to the practice has taught me that with kindness, strategy, patience, consistency, strength, practice and this bully can be dealt with.

This pose is all about core strength and arm strength. Happy Practicing 😊!!!

This is still a difficult pose for me, although I am able to get into it. Smiling and staying serene through the entire pose until a picture is clicked and enduring the pain to hold it until then is when you realise that the challenge is to achieve this balance between serenity and pain.

Yoga does teach to achieve this balance with patience. The lesson I keep reminding myself is to stay calm whenever the mind and body hit the zone of discomfort.
