Teta**s in Goats After Parturition :

Teta**s occur in goats after parturition (kidding) due to contamination of the reproductive tract, retained placenta, uterine infection, or wounds. It is caused by the bacteria Clostridium tetani, which produces a toxin that affects the nervous system.

After delivery:
* The uterus and birth canal are open and vulnerable
* Retained placenta can become infected
* Poor hygiene during assisted delivery increases risk
* Injuries or tears allow bacteria to enter
* If the doe was not properly vaccinated, risk increases
The bacteria release toxin → toxin affects nerves → causes muscle rigidity.

Signs usually appear 3–10 days after kidding:
* Stiff gait (walking like a wooden goat)
* Sawhorse stance (legs straight and rigid)
* Lockjaw (difficulty chewing)
* Erect ears and tail
* Muscle tremors
* Hypersensitivity to sound/light
* Difficulty standing
* Difficulty breathing (advanced stage)

This dog presented with erythema, alopecia, scaling and crusting. The lesions were non-pruritic and non-responsive to allergy medications.

An important thing to consider when working up pets with skin disease is breed predispositions.

Jack Russell Terriers are susceptible to dermatophytosis (specifically Trichophyton mentagrophytes). They like to stick their little faces into rodent holes where they contract the fungus. So, it is typical to see the lesions form on their dorsal muzzle and spread to the rest of the face (and even body).
The fungal PCR and DTM culture came back positive for Trichophyton and you can see the improvement after three months of terbinafine (when we get our second negative culture).

Pneumonia in Sheep:
Pneumonia in sheep, often called the Ovine Respiratory Complex (ORC) or "summer pneumonia" in some regions, is a serious inflammation of the lungs caused by viruses, bacteria (e.g., Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida), or lungworms

Rx;
Antibiotics: Products such as Tilmicosin.

Anti-inflammatory:

Products such as Flunixin Meglumine, Metamizole, Meloxicam (Pain and Fever).

Vitamins: B12, Vitamin C, Vitamin E (Body Resistance)

A calf presented to vcc with following defects viz
1)Atresia anni case;
Atresia ani (imperforate a**s) is a congenital defect in calves where the re**um ends in a blind pouch and the a**s fails to develop, preventing defecation.
2)Patent urachus
3)Pseudohermaphroditism
These all were congenital defects and we had done surgery by making an artificial opening for defecation.
