DKTE Society’s Textile & Engineering Institute, popularly known as DKTE, was founded in 1982 under the V
isionary and Philanthropic Management, who saw a need of an educational and research institution aimed at generating technical man power for industries. Since its humble inception in 1982, the engineering college has grown multi-folds and has branched into various disciplines. The mission of the Institute is accomplished by offering Diploma programs, Bachelor degree, Master degree, and Ph.D. degree programs that seek to develop leadership and promote academic excellence in both the student and the faculty of DKTE. The college currently offers Diploma Programs in Textiles, Bachelors Programs in Textile Engineering (Textile Technology, Man made Textile Technology, Textile Plant Engg., Textile Chemistry & Fashion Technology), Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering -Artificial Intelligence, Ai - Data Science and also Post-Graduate programs in Textiles, ETC, Mechanical & Computer Science & Engg., Defence Technology and MBA program. Institute also offers the facility to carry out PhD in Textiles, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, ETC & Electronics Engineering. In it’s a journey towards excellence, the college has adopted ISO 9001-2015 certification. NAAC has accredited DKTE with A+ 3.53 CGPA. DKTE has an ultra modern and world class infrastructural facility in the form of spacious buildings which are equipped with excellent amenities. It has well equipped laboratories and workshops with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment. With more than 3950 students and close to 210 highly qualified & experienced faculties, DKTE has created its brand image in Society & Industry. Because of the tremendous contributions from our students & alumni, DKTE would not have been in such a glorious position that it enjoys today. Every year DKTE students’ excel in various fields such as industry, research, higher studies, co-curricular activities, extracurricular activities & bring laurels to our Institute. Significant No. of our students every year, pursue higher studies at Premier Institutes and have gone abroad to the leading foreign universities @ USA, UK, France, China, Germany, Australia, Italy,Netherlands,Canada, Singapore for their higher studies and have come out with flying colors. Our results in various examinations have always been excellent & many of our students figure in the merit list of University. Our students have been carrying out good quality research work & publishing the papers in National &International journals of repute. So far our students have published more than 500 papers in various journals & also more than 900 prizes have been bagged by our students at National & Global level till today. As regards to the placement of students, we have got a very impressive record of having 100% placement for Textile students for last 36 years and also achieving around 80 to 90% placement for other Engineering streams. Last year more than 148 leading organizations have recruited our 610 students, offering very attractive packages. The DKTE Institute, since the beginning, was directed to conduct cooperative research, integrated with graduate research, as a means of helping the industry meet the challenges facing by it. Today, DKTE enjoys an international reputation for the high quality of its programs and its graduates, many occupying leadership positions in industry, education and research. The faculty members of this Institute are deeply engaged in carrying out research work sponsored by industry as well as in-house research. As a result of this, as many as 1900 research papers have been published / presented by the faculty members in reputed journals as well as in important conferences. 40 faculty members have published their books and so far 34 Patents have been applied for and 7 patents have been granted. We have highly experienced, qualified & dedicated faculty, tirelessly working for enhancing the quality of education. We are very proud to maintain very high retention percentage of faculty. We have 50 Doctorates in different disciplines & at present Institute has deputed more than 72 faculty members for pursuing PhD. Many of the faculty members are Technical Reviewers, Members of Editorial Boards on various journals and conference proceedings. Many of them are Technical Advisors and Consultants to various industries. The institute is working closely with international brands as such as Rieter (Switzerland), Truetzschler(Germany), Savio(Italy),Schlafhorst(Germany),Somet(Italy), SMIT(Italy),Mayer & Cie(Germany), ACIMIT(Italy),SSM(Switzerland), Dornier(Germany),Dogetech (Taiwan), Sedo Treepoint (Germany), Zinser (Germany), Pinter (Spain), Fongs (Hong Kong), BOSCH Rexroth (Germany) for machinery development, training, technical support, product development and for curriculum development. Institute has also signed MoUs with esteemed industries for mutual benefits. Some of industries are: Aztecsoft, Hoyt Engineering Solutions, Bharat Forge Ltd., IBM (Rational Rose Program), Infosys(Campus Connect Program), Dyster India, Bosch Rexroth, HANSA Embedded Systems Academy, PS Solutions, Cranes Software, Microsoft (IT Academy), Dupont India, IIT Bombay e-yantra, IIT Bombay for E Foundry Cell, Zensar Technologies. Under these MoUs, the organizations work jointly towards development and implementation for projects, participation in designing the curriculum, assistance in arranging industrial study tours for students. The institute maintains an extensive network of contacts with companies all over. The Institute has been organizing training courses, workshops for the benefit of technicians and executives of industry. This gives students a unique opportunity to meet people from the industry and develop valuable relations. This has really helped the institute to have been awarded as ‘Best Industry-Linked Engineering Institute' twice in 2015 and 2017 in the nation-wide survey conducted jointly by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). DKTE continues to provide its "tradition of excellence" to the industry. Its capabilities have been strengthened through its alliance with the numerous International Universities such as Eastern Michigan University (USA), Technical University of Liberec (Czech Republic), North Carolina State University (USA), University of Applied Sciences HOF (Germany), Niederrhein University (Germany), Troy University (US), University of California Los Angelis (US), Busitema University (Uganda), Copperbelt University (Zambia), Kenyatta University (Kenya), The School of Technology (Indonesia), Chienkuo Technology University (Taiwan), HOF University (Germany), Technical University of Liberec (Czech Republic), Aachen University (Germany), Saxion University (Netherlands). The students of DKTE have been undergoing training and higher studies at these universities and industries as result of the tie-up with these organizations. The MoUs also serve the purpose of Student Exchange programs, Faculty Exchange Programs, Joint Research, etc. The institute gives equal opportunities to the students and entrepreneurs through the support of Government Funded Projects. Our Institute has been awarded many prestigious projects by various Departments and Ministries of Govt. of India. These projects are amounting to worth of more than Rs.52 Crores. To mention some of them are:

• Technology Business Incubator(Supported by DST) – Rs.4.84 Crores

• ITDC ( Supported by Ministry of Commerce & Industry) – Rs.7.00 Crores
• AICTE, DST, DRDO, IEI, EDI and many projects from other scientific bodies have

Based on, Academic qualities, Teaching Learning Process, Curriculum implementation, Research & Development, Industry Interaction, Consulting activities, , Campus Placement., Infrastructure, etc. Institute has bagged the rankings in different surveys
• 16th Rank all over India as ‘Outstanding Engineering College of Excellence’in the survey of 2015 conducted by CSR-GHRDC.
• Ranked 23rd as the ‘Best Private Engineering College’ as per the survey of Higher Education Review 2015.
• Institute is graded AA+ by Career 360 Magazine and ranked 5th in Maharashtra.
• DKTE has been honored as “Best Educational Institute for Textile Engineering” by Ministry of Textiles, GoI, in 2013.
• Ranked as Best Private Textile Institute in India through the survey conducted by One Planet Research – Indo Italian Research Centre 2014.
• Awarded ‘Best Engineering Institute for Industry-Institute Interaction’ through the survey conducted by One Planet Research (Indo Italian Research Centre) in the National Education Excellence Awards 2014. The survey was based on Infrastructure, Academic qualities, Research & Development etc. provided by the private Institutes throughout India.
