From leadership and entrepreneurship to the opportunities shaping India, the conversations at ILS 2026 at our Mohali campus reflected the breadth of perspectives needed to think about India’s next chapter.

Bhagwant Mann, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab, joined us as the Chief Guest and delivered the opening keynote. Harish Manwani, Chairman, Executive Board – ISB, and ISB Dean Madan Pillutla, also shared their thoughts with participants. This was followed by another keynote by Manish Tewari, Member of Parliament (MP).

Speakers from across sectors, including ISB alumni, brought their experiences and real-world insights to the theme India Unbound: Defining Tomorrow’s Leadership.

The day concluded with the closing remarks by Prof. Sripad Devalkar - Associate Dean - Programmes, ISB.

As part of ISB’s innovative Block Week initiative, students from the PGP Class of 2026 participated in the SEED (Sustainable Empowerment through Emerging Digitisation) Study Trek to Jharkhand, a field-based learning experience.

Led by Professors Ashwini Chhatre and Vishal Karungulam, the study trek gave students an opportunity to explore the role of governance and technology in addressing real-world challenges.

Through interactions with villagers, government officials and community stakeholders, students explored aspects of local self-government in modern India, including the allocation of funds and how local economies function. The experience also offered insights into what it takes for leaders to manage in a changing and unpredictable environment.

SEED offers students an immersive opportunity to engage with rural communities, understand governance challenges at the grassroots and connect classroom learning with real-world contexts.

From conversations on India’s growth story to perspectives on what leadership needs to look like in a rapidly changing world, the ISB Leadership Summit 2026 brought together diverse voices at our Hyderabad campus.

Led by students from the PGP, PGP YL, PGP PRO, PGP MAX and PGP MFAB programmes, the summit convened leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers and innovators who shared their valuable insights on the theme India Unbound: Defining Tomorrow’s Leadership.

The summit opened with a welcome address by Dean Madan Pillutla, followed by a keynote by Raamdeo Agrawal, Chairman & Co-founder, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd. Through a series of sessions, the speakers explored aspects of leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship, while examining the opportunities, challenges and choices that will shape India’s journey ahead.

The day concluded with a closing address by Prof. Sripad Devalkar, Associate Dean – Programmes, ISB.

A new cohort, diverse perspectives and a shared focus on shaping the future of healthcare.

We recently welcomed the Advanced Management Programme for Healthcare (AMPH) Class of 2027 at our Mohali campus. The cohort comprises of 50 senior professionals from healthcare delivery, consulting, technology, diagnostics, MedTech, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare insurance, creating a mix of perspectives and experiences.

Gaurav Loria, Senior Vice President and Group Chief - Operations, Experience & Safety, Apollo Hospitals, delivered the inaugural address. Professor Ramabhadran Thirumalai, Deputy Dean, Mohali Campus and Professor Sarang Deo, Executive Director, ISB’s Max Institute of Healthcare Management, welcomed the cohort and shared perspectives on the programme ahead.

The cohort also engaged in team-building activities that gave them an opportunity to connect, collaborate and foster a sense of community.

From the School's founding bet on decentralised ownership, to its alumni network of unicorn founders and leaders, and his take on AI's role in the classroom, the conversation explores how ISB has evolved with the changing demands of business and technology.

Looking ahead at the next 25 years, Dean Pillutla shares a larger ambition for ISB: turning ISB into the engine that builds management education capacity across India.

Congratulations to Professor Krishnamurthy V. Subramanian on receiving the Professional Achievement Award from his alma mater, the University of Chicago.

The award honours alumni for distinguished contributions to their fields and public service, recognising Professor Subramanian’s contributions across academia and public policy.

A graduate of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he earned both his MBA and PhD in 2005, Professor Subramanian’s work brings together academic research and public policymaking, with a focus on issues relevant to emerging economies.

"In 2019, I co-founded HealthAnlytx to help corporates personalise employee healthcare. We had early traction, strong intent and a clear value proposition. Then COVID arrived, and everything changed.

We pivoted fast. For a while, we felt unstoppable. But when the pandemic eased, the market became crowded, and only well-funded players survived. HealthAnlytx faded.

That failure taught me more than any win. I discovered passion and comfort with risk, but also the gaps that held me back in strategy, fundraising and long-term thinking. Luck had carried me, but it was not a plan.

That realisation brought me to PGP PRO at ISB.

The biggest shift happened during a strengths assessment. For years I had tried to fix my weaknesses, believing that was the route to growth. ISB challenged that. I realised I had spent years trying to patch gaps instead of building on what came naturally to me.

This programme gave me a chance to rewire how I think about growth, leadership and impact. The journey has only begun, but I can already feel myself shifting in the direction I once hoped for but never knew how to reach."
