Press Note: The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Sr. Prof. Kumar Molugaram has released the Brochure of the Three-Day National Conference on “Reimagining Centre–State Relations in Contemporary India: Delimitation, Fiscal Federalism, One Nation–One Election, and Digital Governance” from 07.01.2026 to 09.01.2026 in the V.C. Chamber, Administrative Building, Osmania University on 03-12-2025.
The event was attended by Prof. G. Naresh Reddy (Registrar), Prof. Jitendra Kumar Naik (OSD to the Vice-Chancellor), Prof. M. Krishna Kumar (Convenor of the Conference, HoD Political Science & Director of Osmania University Centre for International Studies (OUCIS)) and Dr. Chalamalla Venkateshwarlu, Asso. Prof., (Co-Coordinator and Organising Secretary of the Conference).
The Conference jointly organised by the Dept. of Political Science and the OUCIS will bring together leading academics, policymakers, and researchers to discuss evolving dynamics of Indian federalism, such as Delimitation, Fiscal Federalism, One Nation–One Election, and Digital Governance. This conference aims to revisit constitutional principles, explore contemporary challenges, and propose pathways for cooperative and inclusive governance.
Speaking on the occasion, Sr. Prof. Kumar Molugaram praised the department’s initiative and congratulated Prof. M. Krishna Kumar and his team for timely organising this important academic event. The conference will offer a lively platform for academic exchange, policy discussion, and knowledge sharing, strengthening Osmania University’s dedication to research and national progress.

We are pleased to inform you that HISS Publications, in collaboration with the Hyderabad Institute of Social Sciences, has been publishing a high-quality research journal titled The Indian Journal of Social Sciences Research (IJSSR – ISSN 2277-2227) since 2012. This national, peer-reviewed journal is released quarterly—in the periods of January–March, April–June, July–September, and October–December—and focuses on scholarly work in the fields of arts, humanities, and social sciences.

The IJSSR is a professional forum to which both social scientists including sociologists, economists, political scientists, public administrators, historians, educationalists, media studies’ academics, psychologists etc., and the practitioners around the world are invited to share their research and experience in their respective fields.

Comments on the papers published in the journal are also welcome. The IJSSR also publishes review articles and book reviews. Two copies of the book to be reviewed may be sent to the editor for review.

Call for Chapters

We are glad to announce that the Hyderabad Institute of Social Sciences (HISS) is planning to bring out an edited book titled Emerging Geo Politics in the Context of Wars and Immigration Challenges”
The world is witnessing unprecedented geo political challenges and two full blown wars resulting in the fast changing geo political scenario and the grouping of nations.
The pro and anti-immigration protests, Russia-Ukrain war, Israel-Palestine conflict, Middle East Crisis, and Iran, conflicts, cross border terrorism, and other major issues like global recession are resulting in reshaping of the geo political order.
In this context, the Hyderabad Institute of Social Sciences calls for contemporary, analytical, and original papers from the contributors for the publication in the proposed book with ISBN.
Sub-themes can include;
The Wars and the new Cold War: NATO expansion, Russia-Ukrain war, sanctions, oil and trade war, middle east crisis, Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, Iran and its proxies’ war against Israel, crisis in trade through sea route.
Immigration: Immigration challenges and protests for and against the immigration, crisis in European countries, skilled immigration, illegal immigration, etc.,
US Presidential election: The US elections and implications for the world in general and India in particular
Global crises: Global debt crisis, regime change policies, unrest in emerging countries, coups, challenges to democratic institutions, Human Rights, displacement, child rights, humanitarian crisis, economic recession, food crisis, threat of nuclear war and the threat of Third World War
China’s expansionist Policies: Salami slicing, aggression on Philippines, Taiwan, and India etc., Policies that ensnare developing countries into debt trap, military bases, exploitation of mineral and other resources etc.,
Role and effectiveness of United Nations: Critical analysis of the role and functioning of the UNO, need for expansion of more countries as permanent members.

• Papers need not be limited to the above mentioned sub-themes.
• Papers should not be more than eight pages.
• Papers should be strictly original with proper citation and references and need to be free of plagiarism and AI similarity too.
Last date for submission of full papers is 15.09.2024. The edited book will be published by the end of September 2024.
• Editors decision is final in all the respects

Title: Understanding Agrarian Reforms in India: Policies, Perspectives and Future
Sub-Themes:
Indian agrarian crisis, food security challenges, technology-driven agriculture, AI in agriculture, corporate farming, schemes and policies to support farmers and agriculture sector, institutional lending, private lending, loan waiver, subsidised supply of fertilizers and pesticides, burden of imports related to agri products, tools, and technology, modern farming, possibilities for increase in agri output and other products, farming policies, legislations, controversies, challenges in implementation, su***de of farmers, organic farming, modern farming methods, minimum support price, effective marketing facilities, storage and cold storage facilities, supply chain challenges, diversity in farming, media perspective and projection of farmers and agriculture issues. India’s position in agriculture at the global level, food security challenges, soil fertility, conservation, issues, excessive use of fertilizers, pesticides, pesticide residues in agri products, processing challenges, export possibilities, need for intensified blue revolution, white revolution, pink revolution, agriculture reforms, agriculture and its contribution to GDP, employment and underemployment in agriculture sector, sustainable farming in India etc.,
