Day 6 of our Reading Challenge was all about Reading a book that was turned into a movie 🎬📚

Beyond the countless Disney films, Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson & the Olympians, here are some equally exciting reads:

1. The Blue Umbrella by Ruskin Bond
2. A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket
3. Goosebumps by R.L Stine
4. Books by Roald Dahl like Matilda, The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Witches
5. Charlotte's Web by E.B White

…and many more waiting to be discovered!

Read the book first, then watch the movie—it’s always fun to compare the two 🍿✨

Day 5 of our Reading Challenge was all about reading a historical story 📚

A historical read usually focuses on a specific time period, event, or era, where history itself becomes the heart of the story.
Biographies and mythological stories don’t quite fit, as they focus on individual lives or cultural narratives rather than a specific historical context.

To make it fun and far from boring, here are some wonderful books that weave stories with rich historical context:

1. History Collection by

2. Selected titles from Geronimo Stilton

3. Detective Col. Zoro by Abhishek Talwar

4. We, the Children of India by Leila Seth ma'am

5. Let’s Go Time Travelling / The Constitution of India for Children by Subhadra Sen Gupta ma'am

6. Of Revolutionaries and Bravehearts by .ravikumar

7. Collection of Horrible Histories

Explore fascinating historical events through these engaging reads — because history is best experienced through stories ✨

I had a wonderful time performing stories for the tiny tots at summer camp ✨ Thank you Nancy for the invitation 😊

For this age group, "White Rabbit’s Color" Story with surprise elements never disappoints—I first heard it from storyteller back in 2019 at a conference and later adapted it to suit my audience.

Another evergreen favorite across age groups is "Little Bear", an interactive story by Margaret Read McDonald ma'am 🐻

I always make it a point to credit the authors and storytellers I’ve learnt from—my small way of expressing gratitude 🙏

On World Book Day, for our complimentary read-aloud, we picked a beautiful story recommended by .books — "We Brought the River Home", written by and illustrated by Kabini Amin.

Inspired by a real story from the villages of Bundelkhand, this book moved the children deeply. It sparked conversations not just about valuing precious water, but also about the incredible strength and determination women hold to achieve what may seem impossible.

Moments like these remind me how magical it is to connect with my students through books. 📚✨
