Diwali Celebrations at SSA -Hyd

Our school came alive with joy and colors as we celebrated Diwali together! The festivities included vibrant cultural performances, where students showcased their talents and celebrated the spirit of the festival. Creative activities like diya painting and lantern making added a beautiful touch, filling the campus with the warmth and glow of handmade art. It was a day of fun, creativity, and togetherness, embracing the essence of Diwali!

Dear Parents,

We are delighted to share that today, students of Grades 6, 7, and 8 had a wonderful field trip to Pochampally Handlooms, a place renowned for its GI-tagged Ikat designs. The students were given an exclusive opportunity to visit Nakshatra Ikkat Designs’ private property, where they observed the intricate process of creating Pochampally Ikat fabric.

They learned that raw silk is sourced from Bangalore, treated to make it soft, and then spun into spools of thread using a charkha-like mechanism. The threads are then carefully set on looms, with designs meticulously marked, tied, and dyed. These threads are later woven into beautiful Ikat designs. It was fascinating for the students to see that at least seven skilled people are involved in the preparation of the basic materials before the actual weaving begins. The students were captivated by the skill and craftsmanship of the weavers, who bring the stunning designs to life on the loom.

This field trip provided our students with a deeper appreciation for the traditional art of weaving and the cultural significance of Pochampally. We are certain this experience will leave a lasting impression on them.

Dear Parents,

Today, we had the privilege of hosting Amanna Raju, the Executive Chef at Novotel Hyderabad Airport, for an insightful guest lecture. With 28 years of experience in hotels, cruise lines, and as a culinary educator, Chef Raju shared valuable knowledge with our students about the culinary field.

He introduced the students to the wide range of career opportunities in the culinary industry, spoke about the latest trends in food, and discussed how one can sustain in the food business. The session also featured a lively Q&A, where students asked questions about pursuing a future in the culinary arts.

It was a highly engaging and informative experience for all the students!

This day also marks the beginning of new ventures, learning, and artistic pursuits, with many starting their education or sharpening their skills in arts and crafts, invoking Goddess Saraswati’s grace.

Divinely, Vijayadashami inspires us to reflect on our inner battles and emerge victorious, embracing wisdom, compassion, and courage in our lives. Let us all use this sacred day to seek clarity, strength, and the spirit to walk the path of righteousness.

Siddhi means perfection, and Siddhidhatri bestows powers and fulfills desires naturally. She symbolizes the fulfillment of all desires, guiding us toward perfection and enlightenment.

Significance:
Praying to Siddhidhatri helps us receive wisdom and perfection, aligning with the highest truths. A seeker (sadhak) who follows the path with sincerity is blessed with siddhis, but it is important to remain centered and not run after these powers.

Color:
Today’s color is pink, symbolizing love, beauty, and harmony—qualities that Siddhidhatri bestows along with enlightenment.

Rituals:
Devotees offer prayers and meditate to attain the siddhis and blessings of the Goddess, aiming to remain equanimous and centered on the path of knowledge.

This day encourages us to seek perfection and enlightenment while staying rooted in humility and centeredness.

At Sri Sri Academy Hyderabad, we honour the eighth day of Navaratri by worshipping Maha Gauri, the embodiment of purity, brilliance, and innocence. Gaura means white, symbolizing purity and knowledge. Maha Gauri blesses her devotees with wisdom, which is considered the elixir of life.

Praying to Maha Gauri helps us purify our minds and hearts, bringing forth the innocence and brilliance that lead to wisdom.

Today’s color is peacock green, symbolizing balance, renewal, and growth, aligning with the wisdom and purity that Maha Gauri bestows.

Kaala means time, which consumes all of creation, while Ratri means deep rest, the rest needed for rejuvenation of the body, mind, and soul. Kaalratri represents the deepest rest that enables us to regain our energy and dynamism.

Significance:
Praying to Kaalratri brings deep rest, which is essential for vitality and clarity. Through this rest, we emerge more dynamic and capable of facing life’s challenges.

Color:
Today’s color is orange, symbolizing energy, warmth, and rejuvenation—qualities we regain through deep rest.

Rituals:
Devotees meditate and offer prayers to attain the blessings of deep rest and revitalization, ensuring they are prepared to face the demands of life with renewed energy and dynamism.

This day reminds us that rest is the foundation of dynamism, and it is through proper rest that we can shine brightly in our lives.
