The deepest sorrow is not only for a city being destroyed before our eyes, but for a world that witnessed it all and chose silence.
Israel has destroyed homes, wiped out entire families, erased whole neighborhoods, and forcibly displaced people from their land in what many legal experts and human rights organizations have described as genocide and a systematic campaign of ethnic cleansing.
Yet even now, some still ask with cold detachment: “Is this really genocide?”
How many children have to die before you are convinced?
How many families must be erased?
How many neighborhoods must be reduced to rubble?
How many people must be driven from their homes before you stop looking for excuses for the perpetrator?
Gaza has not only been betrayed by bombs.
It has also been betrayed by the silence of the world, the hypocrisy of governments, and the indifference of those who watched
catastrophe unfold and still chose not to act.
Shame on your silence.
Shame on your betrayal.
And shame on everyone who witnessed this tragedy and still refused to call it what it is.
will not forget.
And history will not be kind to those who stood by in silence.
