For those who are doubtful about the impermissibility of smoking.

[Excerpt from the book: Alcohol and Drug Misuse, by: G. Hussein Rasool, p. 164]

"To***co smoking is highly addictive and the contents of ci******es contain the most toxic and carcinogenic
substances. Smoking is the single greatest cause of preventable illness and premature death in the world.

Snuffing and chewing to***co (smokeless to***co) have increased risks of cancers of the mouth, esophagus and pancreas. There are multiple impacts on non-smokers and children exposed to to***co smoke (environmental to***co smoke, also
called second-hand smoke). Those exposed in this way have an increased risk of cancer and the second-hand
smoke chemicals cause DNA damage. To***co is the single largest cause o social inequalities in health and aggravates poverty among poor smokers. Smoke from ci******es, ci**rs and pipes contains thousands of chemicals, including ni****ne, tar, carbon monoxide, acetaldehyde and nitrosamines. Ni****ne is also found in chewing to***co and is the primary reason that to***co is addictive. There is no safe level of to***co use.

To***co use kills nearly half a million adults each year, with one in every five US deaths the result of smoking. Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in Great Britain and, almost 80,000 deaths were attributable to smoking in England." End quore

❌Misconceptions about pregnant women during solar and lunar eclipse❌

❓Is a pregnant lady prohibited from lying flat (on her back), cutting with knife during eclipse ? Please explain with reference to Qur’an and hadith.

🎓Shaykh Shamim as Salafi حفظه الله

Superstitious beliefs have always been a big fitnah. Islam has strictly forbidden these myths. To believe that stars, moon, planets have influence on human fortune on earth is kufr. This goes against their ibaadah and exits them out of Islam. All scholars are of the same opinion and regarded it as a major sin and like shirk that was committed by nation of Ibrahim alaihi Assalam! Hence believing that it was because of such star so and so happened is kufr. On the contrary, one can find out the qiblah and directions with the help of these stars.
There's a hadith of Sahih Muslim 1038 and Sahih Muslim 71 in which Abdullah bin Abbas رضي الله عنه narrates, The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, led the morning prayer for us at al-Hudaybiyah following rainfall during the night. When the Prophet finished, he faced the people and said to them: Do you know what your Lord has said?
They said, “Allah and his Messenger know best.” The Prophet said: Allah said: Some of my servants entered the morning as believers in me and others as disbelievers. Whoever said we have been given rain due to the favor and mercy of Allah, he is a believer in me and a disbeliever in the power of the stars. Whoever said we have been given rain due to the rising of this star, he has disbelieved in me and he has put his faith in the stars.
So the above hadith clearly states that all kinds of superstitious beliefs are false.

Abdullah bin Abbas رضي الله عنه narrates in Sahih Muslim , Kitaab ul iman, hadith number 73 that some people said that so and so star has proved beneficial to them.

So Allah refuted their belief by revealing ayahs of Surah al waqiah 75- 82: Then I swear by the setting of the stars, And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an in a Register well-protected; None touch it except the purified. [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent a nd make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?

Hence, it is kufr to have false aqeedah about solar and lunar eclipse . These are the tricks of satan to misguide people and let them out of islam!

Eclipses are signs from Allaah by means of which Allaah makes His slaves afraid. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): And We sent not the signs except to warn, and to make them afraid (of destruction) [al-Israa 17:39]

Narrated Abu Musa:

The sun eclipsed and the Prophet (ﷺ) got up, being afraid that it might be the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment). He went to the Mosque and offered the prayer with the longest Qiyam, bowing and prostration that I had ever seen him doing. Then he said, "These signs which Allah sends do not occur because of the life or death of somebody, but Allah makes His worshipers afraid by them. So when you see anything thereof, proceed to remember Allah, invoke Him and ask for His forgiveness."

When ZINA penetrates the body of a fellow human being, Wallahi it is extremely difficult to get rid of it. ZINA is addictive. When you start, you hardly stop. And it is dangerous. Every thing you touch, Allah removes Barakah from it. Even Friends who follow you, Allah remove their barakah. When you earn money, it finishes as if fire eats it. Every day you are in this problem or the other. Your heart will never settle. And if you pursue ZINA for the rest of your life, for sure ZINA will kill you. And if you die as an adulterer, hardly you see light. Allahu Aalam. If Allah wishes, he can favor you. But it is hardly. Lastly, people who commit ZINA even after they got married, they continue to do it. Why do you think people cheat in marriages? Bcos They engaged in the act right from beginning. May Allah protect our private parts from commit Haram.

*Questions & Answers*

*If I’m praying by myself, should I still say the adhaan and iqaamah*

Giving the adhaan and iqaamah is good and recommended even if we’re praying alone by ourselves.

*PROOF*:

The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:

‘Your Lord likes it when a shepherd at the top of a mountain pass calls the Adhaan for prayer and then prays.
Then Allaah says:

“Look at this slave of mine, saying the Adhaan and the Iqaamah for prayer and fearing Me. I ask you to bear witness that I have forgiven My slave and will admit him to Paradise.”’” (al-Nisaa’i- saheeh by al-Albaani)

🍃 And he Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam also said:

“Whoever hears the Adhaan, whether a human being, a jinn or any other creature, will be a witness for him (the Mu’adhdhin) on the Day of Resurrection.” (al-Bukhaari)

🍃 Shaikh al-Albaani said:

“Among the issues of Fiqh understood from this hadeeth is that it’s Sunnah to call the Adhaan for the person praying alone....
Therefore, it not suitable to ignore calling the Adhaan and Iqaamah when praying alone.” (Silsilah Saheehah 41)

🍃 Shaikh Ibn Uthaymeen said:

“Giving the adhaan and iqaamah is Sunnah for one who is praying on his own, and they are not obligatory, because he does not have anyone with him to call with the adhaan.
But because the adhaan is remembrance and veneration of Allaah, and is a call to himself to prayer and prosperity, (it is Sunnah) and the iqaamah, likewise, is also Sunnah.”
(Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen, 12/161)

🔺What about for women❓

It’s allowed for a woman to say the adhaan and iqaamah if she praying alone or with other women. And if she doesn’t say it, that’s also ok.

🍃 Someone asked shaikh Ibn Uthaymeen:

“When the women gather to perform the prayer, do they make the iqaamah for the prayer?”

He said:
“If they make the iqaamah, there is no harm in that. If they do not do so, there is no harm in that either.
This is because the adhaan and iqaamah are only obligatory upon the men.
(Fataawa al-Mar’ah)

🍃And the scholars said:

“If a woman does recite the adhaan, she must keep her voice low and make it just loud enough for her companions to hear.

If a woman says the iqaamah for herself or for a group of women, that is better and is closer to what is mustahabb, but if she does not do that, the prayer is still valid.” (Wilaayat Al-Mar’ah Fi’l-Fiqh Al-Islaami)

So go ahead and say the adhaan and even the iqaamah the next time you stand for prayer.

✔️ Earn lots of rewards.

✔️ And let the creation be a witness for you on the Day of Judgment.

And Allaah knows best

Why it's impermissible for Muslims to say “Merry Christmas”

Christmas is just around the corner and many Muslims, especially those living in the West, will undoubtedly be surrounded by the atmosphere and vibe this holiday has to offer. The Christmas trees, lights, the gifts, the greetings…etc. The Christmas spirit will be manifested all over town. Naturally, many Muslims will say “Merry Christmas” to their fellow Christian friends as what is thought to be a token of kind gesture, respect and tolerance. It all seems traditional and harmless right ?

By consensus, greeting the Christians on Christmas is ruled as haram. Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Congratulating the kuffaar on the rituals that belong only to them is haraam by consensus, as is congratulating them on their festivals and fasts by saying ‘A happy festival to you’ or ‘May you enjoy your festival,’ and so on.

No doubt, it's essential that we as Muslims display the utmost respect to all fellow beings regardless of religion. Islam teaches us co-existence and tolerance towards people of different faiths. No one should force his/her belief upon the other. “To you is your Deen, and to me is mine.”

However, we need to draw the line between what is respect and tolerance and what is overstepping the Islamic boundaries. Do we fully understand what it means to greet someone for Christmas, let alone celebrate it ? Do you really know what Christmas is all about ?

To many, it may be a surprise that some Christians don’t even celebrate nor agree with the practiced rituals of Christmas. Why ? Because Christmas has its roots associated with Paganism. Otherwise, it's a religious time to commemorate the birth of Jesus who some take as God and others as the son of God,

In hadith Qudsi: “ Allah says: “The son of Adam has lied against me but he has no right to do so, and he has abused me but he has no right to do so. As for his lie, it is his saying that I cannot recreate him as I did before. As for his abuse, it is his saying that I have a son, but I am glorified above taking a wife or a son.” (Bukhari)

Allah says in the Quran: “And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring). You have certainly made an outrageous claim, by which the heavens are about to burst, the earth to split apart, and the mountains to crumble to pieces, that they ascribe a son (or offspring) to the Most Beneficent (Allah). But it does not befit for (the Majesty of) the Most Beneficent (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Beneficent (Allah) as a slave. (Maryam 19:88-93)

Saying that Jesus is God or has taken a son is to us, the highest form of blasphemy against Allah and goes against our fundamental belief in Monotheism. So when we wish someone a Merry Christmas, we are indirectly saying : Have a happy time celebrating the birth of "God" or the "son of God". Wa nauzubillah

Let’s look at it in a different prescriptive. In Hinduism, Hindus associate certain animals with different gods and consider them to be sacred. The most sacred of them is the cow, and therefore, eating beef is considered a great sin in Hinduism. Now, do you think during Eid Al Adha, a Hindu will come to you and tell you Eid Mubarak ? Will you be offended if they don’t greet you knowing that what you are doing (sacrificing cows or “their gods”) is blasphemy to them. They have not stopped you from slaughtering your animal, nor have they spread hate, but for respect to their ‘gods’, they don’t see it befit to greet you for what they believe is a crime. And we Muslims should have more of a right that we respect Allah by avoiding such words of congratulations.

This is the exact attitude that we should embrace as Muslims. What Christians see as a traditional or spiritual practice, is considered blasphemous to us, therefore, there is no need to congratulate them for this occasion. We must respect those who choose to celebrate Christmas and not spread any hatred for practicing what they believe. But we should also be conscious of our Creator and the fundamentals of Islam. Sometimes we tend to ensure that we show the utmost respect for people of other faiths, and yet forget Allah’s rights over us.

Unfortunately, there will be Muslims who will continue to believe that it's okay to participate in Christmas, yet some Christians will continue to refuse to take part in such holiday.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ‘Whoever imitates a people is one of them.’” (Abu Dawood)
