or producing managers groomed to take up the challenges of the dynamic world of business. The admissions take place through a statewide entrance exam conducted by Government of AP and the course is approved by the All India Development, New Delhi and affiliated to Osmania University. The curriculum designed by Osmania University is at par with that of premiere B- Schools in India, providing a good blend of theory and practice. The students are offered dual specialization in various functional disciplines and they are exposed to the dynamics of the corporate world through guest lectures, seminars, case studies and workshops apart from their academic schedule. Centre, a healthy emphasis is given to work experience & industry exposure, which help them meet emerging needs of the Industry. It is a constant endeavor of the Faculty to give inputs to the student which are designed to bridge the gap between what the recruiters look for and what B- Schools provide. Our MBAs undergo rigorous pedagogy, case methodology, guest lectures by Industry executives, group discussions, etc. to inculcate effective delivery and practically oriented skills in them. These activates are designed to equip future managers to meet the challenges of the changing global business environment. We constantly endeavor to channelise the institutional resources to help bring out the individuals innate qualities and instill in them a passion of life long learning. There are two objectives in following any practice in MBA Department, A.V. They are Staff Development & Student Improvement. Management encourages faculty members to attend & participate in Seminars, Workshops, Conferences, Refresher Courses etc. conducted both in India & abroad, to equip them with the latest developments in their respective subject areas, thereby encouraging research practices & long term development of faculty members. State level conferences and seminars are conducted on a regular basis by various Departments of our college. Management encourages faculty members to take up higher studies like M.Phil & Ph.D Degrees. A lot of academic freedom is also provided. Formation of committees headed by various faculty members is a compulsory part of our college life. Various committees like Anti-Ragging, Library, Admissions, Exams, Co-curricular (visits from corporate practitioners, elocution, essay writing, quiz etc.), Extra curricular (games, sports, singing, dancing etc.) have been formed. Student development is undertaken through Orientation Programs, Mentorship Schemes, Alumni Meets, Saturday Activities, Workshops, Elocution, Essay Writing, Quiz Competitions, Student Seminars etc. Students are also encouraged to take part in games, sports, singing and dancing etc. AVIRBHAV: The students of Business Management of A. College have formed a Management Club named AVIRBHAV that aptly means Genesis. This body aims at providing a forum for the management students to interact with the corporate people & an opportunity to compare themselves with their peers in other colleges. The two day program hosts various contests including formal events like young Manager Contest, Business Plan and Paper Presentation which provides a platform to the business students of various colleges in the state to display their managerial skills in dealing with simulated situations of the real world. Eminent managers and academicians from different functional areas judge them on different parameters including a round of Stress Interview. The other contests are Business Quiz, Group Discussions, Case Analysis, and Presentations. The informal events bring out the latent talents of the students by holding contests like Role Play, Mock Press, Quizzes, Dance and Music competitions, etc.They also help showcase the creative side of the students. It has been the constant endeavor in our department to impart these skills to the students so that they always stay ahead. AVIRBHAV promotes team management, organizing skills of the students and provides for enhanced interaction between students and the industry. It fosters a sense of team spirit and also places a great responsibility on the young shoulders, which have been carried out to the best possible extent. The student body has been proving their zeal and ability to perform their duties to the fullest, keeping up the high standard set by their peers & seniors. Saturday Activities: Saturdays are dedicated to “Self- development Programmes” conducted by the students. The activities carried out range from conducting Seminars, Group Discussions, Guest Lectures by executives from major corporates, Quizzes; Presentations on wide ranging subjects are conducted for students to gain hands-on experience on the various aspects of management. Orientation Program: After their admission into the college, the students have to undergo an orientation program, where emphasis is placed on students skills assessment through presentations, case study reviews etc. The communication & analytical abilities of students are assessed by providing questionnaires measuring their locus of control, leadership abilities, emotional intelligence etc. The students are also exposed to corporate culture through formal & informal sessions with Alumni and Corporate practitioners. Mentorship Program: The class room interaction is further enhanced through the mentoring provided by the Alumni through guidance& counseling for practical training & skill development of the students on a continuous basis. The alumni & their network of friends & colleagues are also utilized for providing projects/ internships / placements etc. to our students. The Alumni also help in institutional development through membership fees, sponsorships, donations etc. Faculty mentorship is also a necessary part of our college. Students are divided into teams. Each team is monitored, coordinated & mentored by a faculty facilitator who provides constant & continuous support, guidance & counseling. They help the students with their academic & personal difficulties and problems.
