Field Insights from Jubilee Hills!

We are happy to share that our interns at Billion Connect Pvt. Ltd. successfully conducted a “Muslim Sentiment Survey” across 41 minority-dominant polling stations of the Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency between 10–21 October 2025.

📊 Over 6,865 voters were personally interviewed — covering 22% of the total electorate — using a mixed-method approach that combined random sampling, structured questionnaires, booth-specific flash surveys, micro-meets, and one-on-one interactions.
This survey was designed to capture micro-level insights into voter attitudes, preferences, and booth-wise dynamics, helping us understand the evolving political and social sentiments on the ground.

We are happy to inform that our interns at Billion Connect Pvt. Ltd., successfully conducted a "Public Sentiment & Voter Perception Survey" across 12 polling stations of the Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency during August-September 2025.

📊 2,198 voters were interviewed, covering 15% of the total electorate using mixed method including systematic random sampling approach. The exercise aimed to capture micro-level insights into voter attitudes, preferences, and booth dynamics.

This pilot marks an important step in our ongoing effort to strengthen data-driven political consultancy and constituency mapping.

Next-Gen GST Reform?

The government’s “Diwali Gift” through GST reforms is a mix of populist relief and structural recalibration. On the face of it, households, farmers, students, and patients stand to benefit:

1. Households save on essentials – hair oil, toothpaste, butter, diapers, utensils – all slashed to 5%.
2. Farmers gain from cheaper tractors, tyres, irrigation systems, and agri-machinery – easing input costs and improving rural productivity.
3. Healthcare becomes lighter on the pocket with insurance, oxygen, diagnostic kits, and spectacles moving to 0–5%.
4. Education support is visible in exemptions for maps, notebooks, and crayons – a symbolic investment in human capital.
5. Industry & consumption may revive as GST on vehicles, electronics, and appliances rationalises from 28% to 18%.

Equally important are process reforms: automatic registration, faster refunds, and reduced compliance that signal a tilt towards ease of doing business.

But here’s the critical caveat:
While goods are becoming cheaper, GST on services has quietly moved upward. This raises costs in sectors like hospitality, digital services, professional consultancy, and education services. For the middle class and businesses, the pinch will still be felt in bills, fees, and subscriptions.

In short, the reform delivers consumption relief and sectoral stimulus, but it also bets on services to compensate for revenue shortfalls. The larger question: can this dual approach sustain fiscal balance without stoking inflationary pressure in services?

We are excited to share that our Field Internship Programme has received an overwhelming 460 applications in just 2 days from across India!

After careful interactions and consideration of availability in Hyderabad and institutional representations, 30 candidates have been shortlisted to join this journey.
