A quote from CIRCUS MIRANDUS(By Cassie Beasley) that touched me.
The war had ended all at once and very calmly. It was as if, between one moment and the next, all the mothers of all the soldiers in the world had checked their clocks and realised that their children had been out playing for too long. The mothers set aside their laundry or their piecrusts or their welding torches, and they stepped out their front doors.
“Davey!” they called, “Kalus! Pierre! It’s time to wash up before supper.”
The soldiers shook hands with one another and wished one another well. Then they raced back to their mothers, or to their wives and sons.

In THE STORIED LIFE OF A.J.FIKRY by GABRIELLE ZEVIN, Jacob the Knightley press representative, a 27 year old with a master's degree in non-fiction is off to make a sales call to Alice Island.
"He can't believe his luck in landing this job. Sure, the pay could be better, but he loves books, has always loved books. He believes that they saved his life. He even has that famous C.S.Lewis quote tattooed on his wrist."
I have this itch to find out what would this quote be. Gabrielle Zevin has opened it up (http://gabriellezevin.com/ajbooks/chapter-thirteen/) and says that it is up to the reader to imagine what quote that would be. I am going through all the quotes to be small enough to be wrist tattoo and have narrowed it to
(1)“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”
(2)“Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.”
(3)“Eating and reading are two pleasures that combine admirably.”
(4)“I can't imagine a man really enjoying a book and reading it only once.”
(5)“You can make anything by writing.”
Though I like (1), because it is a wrist tattoo I would say (5)?
What is your guess?
