“The policy is also not concerned with the effect on research supervision if the teachers are transferred. Such punitive policy will negatively affect future recruitments as well and existing teachers may also choose to leave for more stable academic careers,” Dr. Dutta said.
He said the teachers would intensify their stir if the new policy was not withdrawn immediately. They would continue to struggle to protect the broader academic status and integrity of the varsity.

Our dearest brother, Ravi Chandran has been selected for this year's Ambedkar Award. Here is a giant among men. A foreign scholarship or a residency in a crenelated castle-turned-into-a-college proves none of your human worth. Its your action, honesty and sincerity that makes one worthy. Here is one rare soul amidst a sea of worthlessness.

Please assemble in front of admin block sharp at 9 a.m. tomorrow. The security guards who have been serving our campus for over 10 years have been sacked from their services in one-day notice. Their fault-- they are too "student-friendly" and their presence will hamper effective implementation of the new rules. Come to stand by them, come in large numbers to stop the autocratic administration from having its way. For those who have spent innumerable sleepless nights guarding your security, be ready to sacrifice a night's sleep if required. Don't forget to set your alarm! See you all at 9 a.m. in front of Admin block.

These are the proposed changes being forced on all EFLU participants at this very moment by passing a new 'rule book' without any consultation with the student's body:
#1: Mess membership compulsory. Gender segregation in mess. Rebate only allowed for 10 days.
#2: Caution deposit of Rs 5000 for hostel and mess. Hostel membership immediately makes you a mess member, and you have to pay the money, even if you are not eating there.

#4: Women students have to get back to hostels by 11 pm, unless they have prior permission to stay out late and they can only enter by showing student ID and putting their name in the register. The hostel gates will reopen only at 5:30 am. And to quote the rule book: "This facility should not be treated as a matter of right but under special circumstances or with prior intimation to hostel office."
